Olivia Broome
Olivia Broome (born 13 June 2001) is a para powerlifter who won a bronze medal in the under-50 kg event at the delayed 2020 Summer Paralympics. She is the British and world junior record holder in the under-50 kg event, and has won multiple Para Powerlifting World Cup medals. She also won the junior under-50 kg event at the 2021 World Para Powerlifting Championships, silver medal in the women's 50 kg event, and a silver medal in the lightweight event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Personal life Broome is from Chorley, Lancashire. She has been a student at Loughborough University. Career Broome started para powerlifting at the age of 15, and trains at the British Weightlifting Centre at Loughborough University. She came 10th in the under-50 kg event at the 2017 World Para Powerlifting Championships in Mexico City, and second in the junior under-50 kg event. Chorley
Chorley is a town and the administrative centre of the wider Borough of Chorley in Lancashire, England, north of Wigan, south west of Blackburn, north west of Bolton, south of Preston and north west of Manchester. Powerlifting is a strength sport that consists of three attempts at maximal weight on three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. Zoe Newson
Zoe Newson (born 24 March 1992) is a British powerlifter. She is a two-time bronze medalist at the Summer Paralympics and she won the silver medal in her event at the 2021 World Para Powerlifting Championships. In 2012 Newson posted a European record at the IPC Powerlifting British Championships and took bronze in the under 40 kg class for Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. Career history Newson was born in Ipswich in 1992 and was educated at East Bergholt High School. Para powerlifting was one of the sports contested at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, held in Birmingham, England. This was the sixth staging of para powerlifting at the Commonwealth Games since its inclusion in 2002, and the second staging within England specifically.
