Oliver P. Morton High School is a public secondary school located in Hammond, Indiana, United States. It is part of the School City of Hammond district. History The school was established in 1937 at its former location on Marshall Avenue in the Hessville section of Hammond. It became a four-year school in 1954. The current facility opened in 1968. Hammond ( ) is a city in Lake County, Indiana. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area, and the only city in Indiana to border Chicago. First settled in the mid-19th century, it is one of the oldest cities of northern Lake County. As of the 2020 United States census, it is also the largest in population. Stanley Perzanowski (born August 25, 1950) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher, born in East Chicago, Indiana. He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 16th round of the 1968 amateur draft. He threw right-handed during his baseball career. Major League Baseball career Perzanowski made his major league debut for the White Sox at age 20. That year, he went on to record an era of 12.00 in 6.0 innings. After spending 1972 and 1973 in the minors, he re-emerged with the White Sox, recording a 19.29 ERA in 2.1 innings.
