Oliver Bozanic
Oliver John Bozanic (born 8 January 1989) is an Australian Association football, football player who plays as a midfielder for Perth Glory FC, Perth Glory, on loan from Western Sydney Wanderers FC, Western Sydney Wanderers. Bozanic was born in Sydney but started his professional career in England before returning to play for Central Coast Mariners in the A-League. He joined Swiss club FC Luzern, Luzern in 2013. After spells with Melbourne Victory FC, Melbourne Victory, Ventforet Kofu, Melbourne City FC, Melbourne City and Heart of Midlothian F.C., Heart of Midlothian, Bozanic returned to the Mariners in 2020. Described as "versatile and energetic", Bozanic is able to play as an attacking midfielder or in a deeper central role. A-League Men (known as the Isuzu UTE A-League for sponsorship reasons) is the highest-level professional men's soccer league in Australia and New Zealand. At the top of the Australian league system, it is the country's premier men's competition for the sport. Lawrie McKinna
Lawrie McKinna (born 8 July 1961) is a Scottish-Australian former football player, coach, and former Mayor of Gosford City Council. In 2012, McKinna stood for election as an independent for City of Gosford. Lawrie was successful in gaining a seat, and was elected by his fellow councillors Mayor of Gosford City on 24 September. He was removed from his position as Mayor, as a result of the amalgamation of Gosford and Wyong Councils on 12 May 2016. Lawrie unsuccessfully stood as a candidate in the September 2013 Federal election for the seat of Robertson. His campaign was backed by John Singleton to the tune of $380,000. While receiving 8.7% of the vote, Singleton and McKinna controversially decided the outcome of the seat by directing preference votes to the conservative Liberal Party candidate Ms Lucy Wicks. National Soccer League
The National Soccer League (NSL) was the top-level soccer league in Australia, run by Soccer Australia and later the Australian Soccer Association. The NSL, the A-League's predecessor, spanned 28 seasons from its inception in 1977 until its demise in 2004, when it was succeeded by the A-League competition run by Football Federation Australia, the successor to the Australian Soccer Association. West Adelaide Soccer Club
West Adelaide Soccer Club is an Australian soccer club currently playing in the South Australian State League 1. Traditionally named Hellas, the club was founded by members of the Greek community of Adelaide. West Adelaide became a founding member of the National Soccer League in 1977 and a year later became the first Adelaide team to be crowned national champion when it won the 1978 National Soccer League after a 1–1 draw in the final round match with Adelaide City in the local derby. Vic Bozanic
Vic Bozanic ( hr, Vic Božanić; born 30 October 1957) is an Australian former association footballer. He is the father of Oliver Bozanic who has also played for the Australia national association football team. Playing career Club career Bozanic played for Polonia Adelaide before moving to West Adelaide in the National Soccer League, where he scored what would become the championship winning goal in the last game of the 1978 season against Adelaide City. He later played for NSL clubs APIA and St George. International career Bozanic played one full international match for Australia against Papua New Guinea at the 1980 OFC Nations Cup.
