Olinda Bozán
Olinda Bozán (21 June 1894 – 8 February 1977) was an Argentine film actress and comedian of the Golden Age of Argentine Cinema (1940–1960). Born into a circus family, she acted on the vaudeville circuit, and performed in silent and sound movies. She was trained by the Podestá brothers, one of whom she married, who have one of the most prestigious Argentine acting awards named for them. Bozán' appeared in 75 films and was considered one of the best comic actors of Argentine cinema in the 20th century. Ada Falcón
Ada Falcón (born Aída Elsa Ada Falcone; 17 August 1905 – 4 January 2002) was an Argentina, Argentine Tango (dance), tango dancer, singer and film actress of the 1920s and 1930s. She starred in the film ''Ídolos de la radio'' in 1934. She was famous for her tango work and made over 200 recordings in the 1920s and 1930s. She shared a long relationship with orchestra leader Francisco Canaro. She mysteriously disappeared from the limelight in 1942 and lived as a recluse until she died in 2002 at age 96. Francisco Canaro
Francisco Canaro (November 26, 1888 – December 14, 1964) was a Uruguayan violinist and tango orchestra leader. Canaro was born in San José de Mayo, Uruguay, in 1888. His parents were Italian immigrants, and later, when he was less than 10 years old, they emigrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina in the late nineteenth century. As a young man he found work in a factory, where an empty oil can, in his skilled hands, became his first violin. Performing in seedy bars initially, he ultimately forged a career that spanned many decades, and his orchestra was one of the most recorded. His introduction to the tango came by orquesta típica leader Vicente Greco in 1908, and in 1912 he composed "Pinta brava" ("Fierce Look"). Carlos Gardel (born Charles Romuald Gardès; 11 December 1890 – 24 June 1935) was a French-born Argentine singer, songwriter, composer and actor, and the most prominent figure in the history of tango. Ivo Pelay (May 5, 1893 – August 28, 1959) was one of Argentina's most prolific playwrights of the early 20th century. Born Guillermo Juan Robustiano Pichot in Buenos Aires, Pelay wrote over 200 plays in his lifetime, beginning with ''La Mala Vida'' in 1911. Perhaps his most famous work is his 1925 nationalist dramedy ''La canción de los barrios'' ("Song of the Streets"). In addition, a number of his plays documenting the political and economic woes of Argentina in the 1930s were very popular.
