Oleksandr Illich Savchenko ( uk, Олександр Ілліч Савченко; born on 5 August 1957), is a Ukrainian politician who was the Governor of Volyn Oblast from 23 March 2018 until 11 June 2019.(11 June 2019Про тимчасове виконання обов’язків голови Волинської обласної державної адміністрації/ref> Biography Oleksandr Savchenko was born in a village of Nyzhchi Vereshchaky on 5 August 1957. In 1979, he graduated from the Kirovograd Institute of Agricultural Engineering (faculty "Construction and Road Machinery and Equipment"), and have obtained the qualification of a mechanical engineer. The same year, he worked as a mechanical engineer of the Krasnodar Krasnoyarsk Production Association "Reinforced Concrete". From 1979 to 1981, he served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR. The Governor of Volyn Oblast is the Chief of Local State Administration (Ukraine), head of executive branch for the Volyn Oblast. The office of Governor is an appointed position, with officeholders being appointed by the President of Ukraine, on recommendation from the Prime Minister of Ukraine, to serve a four-year term. Mykhaylo Bohdanovych Svystovych ( uk, Михайло Богданович Свистович; born December 11, 1968 in Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region) — Ukrainian social activist and member of "Vidsich" civil movement, editor of "Maidan" magazine and economist.
