Ole Landmark
Ole Landmark (June 15, 1885 – February 7, 1970) was a Norwegian architect. He maintained an architectural firm in Bergen, Norway for nearly 50 years. Biography Ole Døsen Landmark was born in Bergen, Norway. He was the son of Johan Petersberg Landmark (1848-1926) and Monsine Dorothea Døsen (1852-1924). He attended the Trondheim Cathedral School and was educated at the ''Trondhjems Tekniske Læreanstalt'', a predecessor of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He also made several trips to study abroad, including to Sweden, Germany and France. He was employed as an assistant for architects Schak Bull and Einar Oscar Schou. He established his own practice in Bergen in 1910. Landmark let himself be inspired by a diverse set of architectural styles throughout his career, including roccoco, Empire style and functionalism. Houen Foundation Award
The Houen Foundation Award ( no, Houens fonds diplom) is Norway's most important award for architecture. It was established in 1893 by Anton Christian Houen (1823–1894). A successful merchant and businessman, Houen established several philanthropic legacies and funds in culture and research. Old Åsane Church ( no, Åsane gamle kirke) is a former parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Saurås neighborhood in the borough of Åsane in the city of Bergen. It used to be the church for the Åsane parish, which is part of the Åsane prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, stone church was built in a long church design in 1795 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 240 people. Thomas Erichsens Minde is a landmark estate and Manor house located on the isle of Askøy in Vestland, Norway. Hop Farm Starting in the 1500s, Hop Farm (''Hop hovedgård'') was the seat of the magistrate of Bergen and Gulen. The farm was in 1651 taken over by the mayor and the presiding judge Hans Hansen Smidt (ca. 1610–1681), who was ennobled in 1676 with the name of ''Lilienskiold''. His son, Hans Hansen Lilienskiold, Governor of Finnmark, took possession over both the noble title and the estate after his father.
