Old Wesley RFC
Old Wesley Rugby Football Club was founded in 1891 from the past pupils of Wesley College, Dublin. Since then it has become one of Leinster's most famous clubs. It plays in Division 1B of the All-Ireland League. The club won the Leinster Senior Cup in 1909 and 1985 as well as winning the AIL Division 2 title in 1989 and the AIL Division 2A title in 2015. They celebrated their Centenary year in 1991 with a match against a star-studded Barbarians team featuring Internationals such as Eric Rush, Pierre Berbizier and Tony Underwood. They won the eleven-try match in dramatic fashion with a last minute drop-goal to win 37-36. Through the early 1990s they were one of the most successful teams in Leinster, reaching three cup finals and consistently playing in the 1st Division of the AIL League. The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) ( ga, Cumann Rugbaí na hÉireann) is the body managing rugby union in the island of Ireland (both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). The IRFU has its head office at 10/12 Lansdowne Road and home ground at Aviva Stadium, where adult men's Irish rugby union international matches are played. Donnybrook, Dublin
Donnybrook () is a district of Dublin, Ireland. It is situated on the southside of the city, in the Dublin 4 postal district, and is home to the Irish public service broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). It was once part of the Pembroke Township. Its neighbouring suburbs are Ballsbridge, Sandymount, Ranelagh and Clonskeagh. Henry Hurley is a retired Irish people, Irish rugby union loose-head prop-forward. Born in Doncaster, He played for Old Wesley RFC, Moseley RFC, Leinster Rugby, Leinster and Ireland national rugby union team, Ireland. He won 2 caps between 1995 and 1996. He was teaching in East Glendalough School, until he moved to Temple Carrig secondary school then moving to the best school in Bray, Woodbrook College. He became head coach at the East Glendalough School Rugby Team, he led the 2010 Junior Team (JCT) to a victory in a league two divisions ahead of the school standard. Led by captain Fergal Marshall, they went flawlessly to the Junior Developmental Cup and to the Duff Cup, where they ended their streak in the final narrowly losing to Skerries. Philip Orr
Philip Andrew Orr (born 14 December 1950) is a former Irish international and British and Irish Lions Rugby Union loosehead prop. Orr was born in Dublin. Educated at The High School, Dublin and Trinity College Dublin, he played for Old Wesley for over 20 years and was, for many years, his country's most-capped prop with a then world record 58 appearances. Orr made his debut against France in 1976 and was part of the Irish teams that won a Triple Crown in 1982 and 1985. He toured with the Lions to New Zealand in 1977, winning one cap, and was a replacement during the tour of South Africa in 1980. However, Orr was not available for the 1983 tour to the same country due to business reasons. He retired from international rugby in 1987, having played for Ireland in the inaugural rugby world cup. Lansdowne Football Club, also sometimes referred to as Lansdowne Rugby Football Club, is a rugby union team based in Dublin, Ireland. It was founded in 1872 by Henry Dunlop as the ''Irish Champion Athletic Club''. Its senior team currently plays in Division 1A of the All-Ireland League. Leinster Senior League Shield
The Leinster Senior League Shield was a rugby competition in Ireland, involving lower-ranked senior rugby clubs in Leinster, i.e. clubs from Leinster competing in the lower divisions of the All-Ireland League. It ran from 2011-12 until 2015-16. Previous to this, all senior teams competed together in the Leinster Senior League Cup. Leinster Rugby ( ga, Rugbaí Laighean) is one of the four professional provincial rugby union teams from the island of Ireland and the most successful Irish team domestically. They compete in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup. Leinster play their home games primarily at the RDS Arena, although larger games are played in the Aviva Stadium when the capacity of the RDS is insufficient. Before moving to the RDS in 2005, Leinster's traditional home ground was Donnybrook Stadium, in Dublin 4.
