Olavi Ala-Nissilä
Olavi Oskari Ala-Nissilä (born August 2, 1949 in Loimaa kunta, Finland) is a Finnish politician. He has been an MP from 1991 to 2006 and was re-elected in 2015. Ala-Nissilä was a member of the European Court of Auditors in between 2006 and 2012. Ala-Nissilä graduated in 1967, graduated as a graduate student in 1969 and graduated in economics in 1974. He completed a master's degree in Economics at the University of Turku in 1977. In 1980 Ala-Nissilä passed a HTM auditor's degree and in 1982 he was a certified auditor. Ala-Nissilä was a member of the constituency of Southwest Finland for a continuous period from 1991 to 2006. He has been a member of parliament in charge of Finance Committee from 1995 to 2006 (2003–2006 chairman) and Parliament Banking Supervisor 1993–2006 and re-appointed in 2015. Southwest Finland
Southwest Finland, calqued as Finland Proper ( fi, Varsinais-Suomi ; sv, Egentliga Finland), is a region in the southwest of Finland. It borders the regions of Satakunta, Pirkanmaa, Tavastia Proper (Kanta-Häme), Uusimaa, and Åland. The region's capital and most populous city is Turku, which was known as the former capital city of Finland before Helsinki. The area comprising the Southwest is largely the same as the historical province of Finland Proper, so named because it is the original home of the tribe known as the Finns proper. Mauri Salo
Mauri (from which derives the English term " Moors") was the Latin designation for the Berber population of Mauretania, located in the part of North Africa west of Numidia, in present-day northern Morocco and northwestern Algeria. Name ''Mauri'' (Μαῦροι) by Strabo, who wrote in the early 1st century, as the native name, which was also adopted into Latin, while he cites the Greek name for the same people as ''Maurusii'' (Μαυρούσιοι). The name ''Mauri'' as a tribal confederation or generic ethnic designator thus seems to roughly correspond to the people known as Numidians in earlier ethnography; both terms presumably group early Berber-speaking populations (the earliest Libyco-Berber epigraph dates to about the third century BC). The European Court of Auditors (ECA; French: ''Cour des comptes européenne'') is one of the seven institutions of the European Union (EU). It was established in 1975 in Luxembourg in order to improve EU financial management. It has 27 members (1 from each EU member-state) supported by approximately 800 civil servants. History The ECA was created by the 1975 Budgetary Treaty and was formally established on 18 October 1977, holding its first session a week later. At that time the ECA was not a formal institution; it was an external body designed to audit the finances of the European Communities.
