Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) (formerly called, Ogun State University Teaching Hospital (OSUTH) is situated at Sagamu, Ogun State, South West Nigeria. The teaching hospital was established in the year 1986 with primary aim of teaching medical students from Olabisi Onabanjo University and provision of healthcare service to the indigene of Ogun state and Nigeria as a whole. Sagamu
Sagamu or Ishagamu is a conglomeration of thirteen towns located in Ogun State along the Ibu River and Eruwuru Stream between Lagos State, Lagos and Ibadan, founded in the mid 19th century by members of the Remo branch of the Yoruba people in south-western Nigeria . The 13 towns that made it up are : Makun, Offin Sonyindo, Epe, Ibido, Igbepa, Ado, Oko, Ipoji, Batoro, Ijoku, Latawa and Ijagba. It is the capital of Remo Kingdom and the paramount ruler of the kingdom - Akarigbo of Remo's palace is in the town of Offin. Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye is a state owned and operated university located in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Nigeria. The university was founded on 7 July 1982 as Ogun State University (OSU) and was renamed Olabisi Onabanjo University on 29 May 2001, in honour of Chief (Dr.) Olabisi Onabanjo, whose efforts as the then civilian governor of Ogun State gave birth to the university. Meanwhile, many students still refer to the institution as OSU, an acronym for the former name. The university had a total output of 10,291 graduates and 1,697 postgraduates. Chief Victor Olabisi Onabanjo (12 February 1927 – 14 April 1990) was governor of Ogun State in Nigeria from October 1979 – December 1983, during the Nigerian Second Republic. He was of Ijebu extraction. Background Oloye Victor Olabisi Onabanjo was born in 1927 in Lagos. He was educated at Baptist Academy in Lagos and at the Regent Street Polytechnic in the United Kingdom, where he studied journalism between 1950 and 1951. He worked as a journalist for several years before becoming a full-time politician.
