Ola Krogseng Giæver (14 July 1885 – 25 October 1966) was a Norwegian farmer and politician for the Conservative Party. He was born in Lyngseidet. He served as mayor of Lyngen for four periods, from 1913 to 1925. Lyngseidet
Lyngseidet (also sme, Ivgumuotki or fkv, Yykeänmuotka) is the administrative centre of Lyngen Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The village is located on an isthmus that is about wide between an arm of the Ullsfjorden and the Lyngenfjorden. The village is home to two grocery stores, Lyngen Church, nursing home, schools, daycare, pharmacy and library. A nine meter tall plastic figure Santa Claus named Gollis is also located here. Lyngseidet is located north of the village of Furuflaten and by ferry from Olderdalen, in the neighboring Kåfjord Municipality. Lyngen ( se, Ivggu suohkan; fkv, Yykeän komuuni) is a municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Lyngseidet. Other villages include Furuflaten, Lattervika, Nord-Lenangen, and Svensby. The municipality is the 141st largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Troms
Troms (; se, Romsa; fkv, Tromssa; fi, Tromssa) is a former county in northern Norway. On 1 January 2020 it was merged with the neighboring Finnmark county to create the new Troms og Finnmark county. This merger is expected to be reversed by the government resulting from the 2021 Norwegian parliamentary election. It bordered Finnmark county to the northeast and Nordland county in the southwest.
