Okinawa (film)
''Okinawa'' is a 1952 American war film directed by Leigh Jason and starring Pat O'Brien, Cameron Mitchell and Richard Denning. It was produced and distributed by Columbia Pictures as a second feature. Plot Captain Hale commands a U.S. Naval vessel taking part in the Battle of Okinawa. Leigh Jason
Leigh Jason (July 26, 1904 – February 19, 1979) was an American film director and screenwriter. He was born in New York, New York, and died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. He married Ruth Harriet Louise in 1927 at Temple B'nai B'rith, with William Wyler as his best man. Louise was the first woman photographer active in Hollywood, and ran Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's portrait studio from 1925 to 1930. They had a son, Leigh Jr., who died of leukemia when he was six years old, and Louise died in 1940, along with their second son, in complications from childbirth. Rudy Robles
Rudy Robles (born Pastor Lluviosa Robles, 29 April 1910 – 11 August 1970) was a Filipino film and television actor. He was one of the first Filipino actors to appear in Hollywood movies. Career Robles was born in Tacloban, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines, where he began his schooling before emigrating to the United States. He completed high school and college in California, where he excelled in debating and acting. Producer Samuel Goldwyn reportedly discovered and gave him the screen name Rudy Robles whilst he was working as a bellhop at The Beverly Hills Hotel in Hollywood. His credits include pre- and post-World War II films, such as Lt. Yabo in '' The Real Glory'' (1939) starring Gary Cooper and David Niven.
