''Light Grenades'' is the sixth studio album by alternative rock band Incubus (band), Incubus, released on November 28, 2006, on Epic Records, Epic. The album sold 359,000 copies during its first week of release worldwide, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200, selling 165,000 copies in the US in its first week; it is the band's first number one album. However, until November 20, 2016, ''Light Grenades'' held the dubious honor of having the title of Billboard 200#Largest drops from number one, the biggest drop from No. 1 in chart history, falling to number 37. The album achieved Gold certification, less than the band's previous Platinum records beginning with 1999's ''Make Yourself''. Incubus is an American Rock music, rock band from Calabasas, California. The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer José Pasillas while enrolled in Calabasas High School and later expanded to include bassist Alex Katunich, Alex "Dirk Lance" Katunich, and Gavin Koppell, Gavin "DJ Lyfe" Koppell; both of whom were replaced by bassist Ben Kenney and Chris Kilmore, DJ Kilmore, respectively. Incubus has attained commercial success, reaching multi-platinum sales, as well as releasing several successful singles (music), singles. After their first two albums, ''Fungus Amongus'' (1995) and ''S.C.I.E.N.C.E.'' (1997), the band earned mainstream recognition with the release of their 1999 album ''Make Yourself'' which spawned several hits, including the band's highest charting song "Drive (Incubus song), Drive."
