Ohngren's Line
In head and neck cancer, Ohngren's line is a line that connects the medial canthus of the eye to the angle of the mandible. Head And Neck Cancer
Head and neck cancer develops from tissues in the lip and oral cavity (mouth), larynx (throat), salivary glands, nose, sinuses or the skin of the face. The most common types of head and neck cancers occur in the lip, mouth, and larynx. Symptoms predominantly include a sore that does not heal or a change in the voice. Some may experience a sore throat that does not go away. In those with advanced disease, there may be unusual bleeding, facial pain, numbness or swelling, and visible lumps on the outside of the neck or oral cavity. Given the location of these cancers, trouble breathing may also be present. Georg Öhngren
Liss Oskar Georg Öhngren (September 20, 1891 – November 16, 1975) was an otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon, and head of his department at the Sabbatsberg Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. He is best known for defining the Öhngren's line in a paper published in 1933. __NOTOC__ The angle of the mandible (gonial angle) is located at the posterior border at the junction of the lower border of the ramus of the mandible.
