Painesville is a city in and the county seat of Lake County, Ohio, United States, located along the Grand River northeast of Cleveland. Its population was 19,563 at the 2010 census. Painesville is the home of Lake Erie College, Morley Library, and the Historic Downtown Painesville Recreation Area. History Painesville was settled shortly after the Revolutionary War. It was still considered part of the Connecticut Western Reserve. General Edward Paine (1746–1841), a native of Bolton, Connecticut, who had served as a captain in the Connecticut militia during the war, and John Walworth arrived in 1800 with a party of sixty-six settlers, among the first in the Western Reserve. Interstate 90 In Ohio
Interstate 90 (I-90) runs east–west across the northern tier of the US state of Ohio. Much of it is along the Ohio Turnpike, but sections outside the turnpike pass through Cleveland and northeast into Pennsylvania. State Route 534 (SR 534) is a north–south state highway in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. The southern terminus of SR 534 is at its junction with the duplex of U.S. Route 62 (US 62) and SR 173 nearly west of Salem. Its northern terminus is a curve in Geneva-on-the-Lake where the highway directly transitions into SR 531 at that route's western terminus.
