State Route 435 (SR 435, OH 435) is a long east–west state highway in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. The western terminus of SR 435 is at a partial interchange with U.S. Route 35 (US 35) approximately southwest of Jeffersonville, and its eastern terminus is a T-intersection with SR 729 nearly northeast of Milledgeville. This route follows a former alignment of US 35, which now bypasses this area along a freeway alignment. SR 435 provides access between current U.S. Route 35 and Interstate 71 (I-71), as no direct interchange exists between the two highways. Octa is a village in Fayette County, Ohio, United States, along Rattlesnake Creek. The population was 58 at the 2020 census. History Octa was originally called Allentown, and under the latter name was laid out by Elijah Allen, and named for him. The present name honors a person named Octa Barnes. A post office called Octa was established in 1882, and remained in operation until 1929. Geography Octa is located at (39.608877, -83.613192). Portage County is a county in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 161,791. Located in Northeast Ohio, Portage County is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Cleveland–Akron–Canton Combined Statistical Area. Its county seat is Ravenna and its largest city is Kent. The county, named for the portage between the Cuyahoga and Tuscarawas Rivers, was created in 1807 and formally organized in 1808. State Route 43 (SR 43) is a mainly north–south state highway that runs through the northeastern quadrant of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its southern terminus is at a signalized intersection with State Route 7 along the Ohio River in Steubenville, and its western terminus is approximately to the north at Public Square in Cleveland. It is one of ten routes to enter Public Square. Created in the mid-1920s, State Route 43 starts out in Steubenville, and runs northwesterly to Canton via Carrollton. From Canton, the highway runs northerly through Kent and Streetsboro to Aurora, where it then turns northwesterly, and passes through suburban Cleveland before entering the city proper, and coming to an end in downtown at Public Square. Ohio State Route 183
State Route 183 (SR 183) is a north/south state Highway in eastern Ohio. Its southern terminus is SR 800 in Sandy Township, approximately east of Sandyville and less than south of East Sparta. Its northern terminus is SR 14 in Edinburg Township near Interstate 76, about southeast of Ravenna. The current route was commissioned in 1962. History At the 1923 Ohio state highway renumbering, a previous State Route 183 was established in Lucas County in an area that was later annexed by the city of Toledo. Ohio State Route 172
State Route 172 (SR 172) is an east–west state highway in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its western terminus is at its interchange with U.S. Route 30 (US 30) about west of East Greenville near Dalton, and its eastern terminus is at US 30 about west of Lisbon. The route stays near US 30 for its entire route, and some of the current Route 172 actually served as previous alignments of US 30. SR 172 was commissioned in 1923, with another section commissioned in 1935 as a different state route number. In the late 1930s the two routes were contacted and made into one route, with the SR 172 designation. The route was extended to the west in the mid-1970s, concurrent with US 30 most of the way. State Route 173 (SR 173) is located in northeastern Ohio, and runs east–west from State Route 44, about north of Louisville, Ohio to State Route 14 and State Route 9 in downtown Salem, Ohio. It primarily passes through Stark and Columbiana counties, though it also straddles the county line between Mahoning County and Columbiana County for some of its length. The western terminus of State Route 619 is at an interchange with the Interstate 76/ U.S. Route 224 freeway in Barberton. State Route 261 (SR 261) is an east–west state highway located in northeastern Ohio that passes through Medina, Summit, and Portage counties. At a length of , SR 261 runs from a signalized intersection with SR 94 in Wadsworth to a signalized T-intersection with SR 59 in Franklin Township just east of Kent. State Route 261's routing is more complicated than other state highways, frequently changing streets and direction. It runs through downtown Akron as two sets of one-way surface streets.
