Ohio State Buckeyes Wrestling
The Ohio State Buckeyes wrestling team represents the Ohio State University and competes in the Big Ten Conference of the NCAA Division I level. The Buckeyes host their home meets at the Covelli Center on Ohio State's campus. The team is coached by two-time NCAA Division I All-American and two-time Big Ten Conference champion for the Iowa Hawkeyes Tom Ryan. In 2015, he led the team to their first NCAA team title, finishing as runner-ups in 2008, 2009, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Currently, the Buckeyes have had five consecutive top-three NCAA team finishes (seven overall) and eleven top-eight team finishes in the last twelve NCAA championships. Covelli Center
The Covelli Center is a multi-purpose arena located on the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. The 3,700-seat facility is situated at 2640 Fred Taylor Drive, the area provides a home to seven varsity sports teams. The building is attached the Jennings Wrestling Practice Facility. About The facility was opened on June 4, 2019, and serves as the home to the fencing, men's and women's gymnastics, Ohio State Buckeyes men's volleyball, men's and Ohio State Buckeyes women's volleyball, women's volleyball, and wrestling programs. The site also occasionally serves as a venue for the Ohio State Buckeyes women's basketball, women's basketball team. Tommy Rowlands (born June 3, 1981) is a former American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler. High school and college Rowlands graduated from Bishop Ready High School in Columbus, Ohio in 1999. He was a two-time Ohio state champion (1997–99) and the 1999 National High School champion, with a career high school record of 167–10 with 98 pins. He would wrestle collegiatley for The Ohio State University from 2001 to 2004. Kollin Raymond Moore (born May 2, 1997) is an American freestyler wrestler and graduated folkstyle wrestler who competes at 97 kilograms. The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed upon an amateur sports person from the United States who is considered to be one of the best amateurs in their sport. Individuals receiving this distinction are typically added to an All-America team for their sport. Freestyle Wrestling
Freestyle wrestling is a style of wrestling originated from Great Britain and the United States. Along with Greco-Roman, it is one of the two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic Games. American high school and men's college wrestling is conducted under different rules and is termed scholastic and collegiate wrestling. American collegiate women's wrestling is conducted under freestyle rules. Freestyle wrestling, like collegiate wrestling, has its greatest origins in catch-as-catch-can wrestling.
