Offenbach-Lauterborn
Lauterborn is a quarter (''Stadtteil'') of Offenbach am Main, Germany, with approximately 9,500 inhabitants (2020). It is located in the south-east part of the town and borders Frankfurt and the municipal forest. History Lauterborn was the historic name of a fountain. The district was built from the 1960s on with terraced houses and apartment blocks. A half dozen atrium houses were constructed by the famous architect Egon Eiermann. The central park is called "John-F.-Kennedy-Promenade". Until the 1990s there were some smaller factories and a truck garage of the US Army next to Lauterborn. These facilities closed and offices and the distribution center Briefzentrum 63 of the Deutsche Post were built. Offenbach Am Main
Offenbach am Main () is a List of cities and towns in Germany, city in Hesse, Germany, on the left bank of the river Main (river), Main. It borders Frankfurt and is part of the Frankfurt urban area and the larger Frankfurt Rhein-Main Regional Authority, Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area. It has a population of 138,335 (December 2018). Municipal Forest
A municipal forest or municipal woodland is a forest or wood owned by a town or city. Such woods often have a higher density of leisure facilities like play parks, restaurants and cafes, bridleways, cycle paths and footpaths. Egon Eiermann
Egon Eiermann (29 September 1904 – 20 July 1970) was one of Germany's most prominent architects in the second half of the 20th century. He was also a furniture designer. From 1947, he was Professor for architecture at the Technical University of Karlsruhe. Biography Eiermann was born in (now part of Babelsberg, Potsdam), the son of Wilhelm Eiermann (1874–1948), a locomotive engineer and his wife Emma Gellhorn (1875–1959). He archived his Abitur at the Althoff-Gymnasium and studied architecture at the Technical University of Berlin. From 1925 to 1928, he was master student of Hans Poelzig.
