Odis Allison
Odis Jackson Allison Jr. (born October 2, 1949) is a retired American basketball player. Born in Tulare, California, Allison played collegiately for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He was selected by the Golden State Warriors in the 5th round (76th pick overall) of the 1971 NBA draft. He played for the Warriors in the National Basketball Association, NBA (1971–72) for 36 games. The small forward (SF), also known as the three or swingman, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. Small forwards are typically shorter, quicker, and leaner than power forwards and centers but taller, larger, and stronger than either of the guard positions. Tulare ( ) is a city in Tulare County, California. The population was 68,875 at the 2020 census. It is located in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, eight miles south of Visalia and sixty miles north of Bakersfield. The city is named for the Tulare Lake, once the largest freshwater lake west of the Great Lakes. Etymology The English name ''Tulare'' derives ultimately from Classical Nahuatl tōllin, "sedge" or "reeds", by way of Spanish ''tule'', which also exists in English as a loanword. The name is cognate with Tula, Tultepec, and Tultitlán de Mariano Escobedo.
