Odi Stadium
Odi Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Mabopane, Gauteng, Mabopane, South Africa. It was used mostly for football (soccer), football matches. The stadium holds 60,000. It was the home stadium of Garankuwa United football team. Odi Stadium is situated in Mabopane, in the north of Pretoria, within the jurisdiction of Tshwane Metropolitan Council. The stadium consists of an uncovered grandstand, secondary, four rectangular, two small triangular stands and twenty floating stands, giving the stadium a seating capacity of over fifty thousand seats. A multi-purpose stadium is a type of stadium designed to be easily used by multiple types of events. While any stadium could potentially host more than one type of sport or event, this concept usually refers to a specific design philosophy that stresses multifunctionality over specificity. It is used most commonly in Canada and the United States, where the two most popular outdoor team sports – Canadian football/American football and baseball – require radically different facilities.
