Odell Building
The Odell Building is a historic library and museum located at 202 East Lincolnway Road in Morrison, Illinois. The building was constructed in 1865 and originally served as Morrison's Congregational Church. In 1887, John D. Odell deeded the building to Morrison's library association, which had been established ten years earlier; the library named the building in his honor. The building held both the library's collection of books and a museum that included fossils, animal specimens, artifacts, and several other collections. The library became Morrison's public library in 1905 and remained as such until 1995, when the city built a new library. The company's concession product line includes a Real butter topping, a margarine topping and a variety of popping oils. The company's non-concession product line includes a variety of butters that extends beyond concession products to include a product line called Chef's Butter sold to restaurants and retailers. History The company was started by Virgil Odell, who owned several theaters in Idaho in the 1960s. At the time, theaters were using creamery butter, or stick butter as we know it today, to put on top of popcorn. Odell Brewing Company is an independent craft brewery in Fort Collins, Colorado. It's the 23rd largest U.S. craft brewing company by the Brewers Association (based on 2018 beer sales volume). Odell Brewing is known for their hop-forward and balanced IPAs. History Odell was founded in 1989 by Doug, Wynne, and Corkie Odell in a converted 1915 grain elevator located on the outskirts of downtown Fort Collins. It was the second packaging craft brewery to open in Colorado, and the first in Fort Collins. Starting in his kitchen in Los Angeles, Doug Odell had spent ten years refining recipes and playing with brewing processes until he settled on the brewery's first two recipes, although not yet the names – 90 Shilling and Easy Street Wheat. Odell is a small village and civil parish in the Borough of Bedford, north Bedfordshire, England, approximately north-west of Bedford town centre, near the villages of Harrold, Felmersham, Sharnbrook and Carlton. History Roman and Saxon period Evidence of occupation includes the remains of a farm dating from just before the Roman invasion. It comprised two round timber buildings inside a fenced enclosure, and two cremation pits. After the conquest its survival and prosperity may have been linked to there being a Roman presence at Irchester. The evidence is that the farm was abandoned in the 4th century and remained unoccupied until the 6th or 7th century. Odell is a village in Livingston County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,046 at the 2010 census. Media In October 2006, Odell was featured on the USA Food Network's "Riding Old Route 66", which visited the Standard Oil station. Geography Odell is in northern Livingston County, in the northern part of Odell Township. Interstate 55 passes north and west of the village, with access from Exit 209. I-55 leads northeast to Dwight and to downtown Chicago, while to the southwest it leads to Pontiac, the Livingston county seat, and to Bloomington. Historic US 66 passes through the northwest side of the village, on an older bypass than I-55. Odell is an unincorporated community in Wilbarger County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had an estimated population of 131 in 2000. Geography Odell is located at . It is situated at the junction of Farm Roads 91, 432, and 2379 in northwestern Wilbarger County, approximately 15 miles northwest of Vernon. Wanderers Creek borders the community to the west. History The community was founded in 1908 as a railroad station on the Kansas City, Mexico and Orient Railway. It was named after New York civil engineer J. T. Odell. Many of Odell's early residents came from Haulk, a nearby settlement. Upon the arrival of the railroad, a number of Haulk citizens were lured to a better location on land donated by T. H. Holloway. A post office was established on April 27, 1909. Odell Lake is located near Willamette Pass in the northwest corner of Klamath County, Oregon, United States. It is one of several lakes in the Cascade Range in Central Oregon, and lies within the Deschutes National Forest. It was named for Oregon Surveyor General William Holman Odell by Byron J. Pengra, in July 1865, while they were making a preliminary survey for the Oregon Central Military Road, which would later become Oregon Route 58. The lake fills a basin carved by a glacier, and the resulting terminal moraine confines the water along the lake's southeast shore.
