Octavian Grigore
Octavian "Tavi" Grigore (15 July 1964) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player. Playing career Born in Urlați, Prahova County, Grigore played as a centre-back and spent his entire career at nearby team Petrolul Ploiești. He amassed totals of 519 matches and 74 goals during his 19 years with "the Yellow Wolves". Managerial career Following his retirement as a player, Grigore started his managerial career by coaching teams such as Unirea Urziceni, FCM Târgoviște or Dunărea Galați among others, but also returning to Petrolul Ploiești for several stints. Urlați () is a town in Prahova County, Muntenia, Romania. In 2011, it had a population of 10,064. Sixteen villages are administered by the town: Arioneștii Noi, Arioneștii Vechi, Cherba, Jercălăi, Mărunțiș, Orzoaia de Jos, Orzoaia de Sus, Schiau, Ulmi, Valea Bobului, Valea Crângului, Valea Mieilor, Valea Nucetului, Valea Pietrei, Valea Seman and Valea Urloii. The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Divisions Since its inception in 1934, Liga II had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. Generally, Seria I included eastern teams while Seria II included western sides, although clubs near the center of the country are allowed to choose in which series they will compete. The first six teams from each series participate in a play-off for potential promotion to Liga I. 1994–95 Cupa României
The 1994–95 Cupa României was the 57th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by Petrolul Ploiești against Rapid București. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. First round proper matches are played on the ground of the lowest ranked team, then from the second round proper the matches are played on a neutral location. If a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes into extra time. If the match is still tied, the result is decided by penalty kicks. In the semi-finals, each tie is played as a two legs.
