Oceanside High School
Oceanside High School (California) is an American public secondary school located in Oceanside, California. It is part of the Oceanside Unified School District. History and Campus Oceanside High School is one of two high schools in the Oceanside Unified School District serving Oceanside, CA. Founded in 1906, OHS originally was located on the second floor of a one-room schoolhouse located at the site of the present campus. The school primarily serves Oceanside's beach communities and rests less than one mile from the beach. Throughout much of the first half of the 1900s the campus served as the High School for the majority of the North San Diego County region - its territory spanned as far south as Encinitas and east to Vista. In 1934, the school opened a junior college division, which operated on the eastern side of campus and existed until the 1970s when Mira Costa College opened its own campus. Oceanside is a city on the South Coast of California, located in San Diego County. The city had a population of 167,086 at the 2010 census. The city is a popular tourist destination, owing to its historic landmarks, beaches, and architecture. Willie Banks
William Augustus Banks III (born March 11, 1956) is an American athlete. Born at Travis Air Force Base, California, he grew up in San Diego County and went to Oceanside High School. Banks is an Eagle Scout. Track and Field Banks was a track & field athlete competing in the triple jump. On June 16, 1985 he set a world record of 17.97 m (58 feet 11.5 inches) at the national championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. He finished second in the NCAA Championships in 1977 and 1978. He earned his B.A. and Juris Doctor (J.D.) from UCLA. He broke the American triple jump record in 1981. He qualified for the 1980 U.S. Olympic team but did not compete due to the U.S. Olympic Committee's boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Russia. Roberto Wallace
Roberto Wallace (born May 10, 1986) is a Panamanian born, former American football wide receiver. He played college football at San Diego State. College career Wallace started attending San Diego State University in 2005. He red-shirted his first season as an Aztec and during spring ball had shoulder surgery that withheld him from the 2006 season. In his junior year at SDSU, Wallace was able to see more playing time on the field. He played in his first career games against Washington State and ASU but did not log a reception. His first career catch came in the win over PSU for nine receiving yards. Starting against New Mexico, Wallace recorded a career-best three catches for 20 yards. Terry Vaughn
Terry Vaughn (born December 25, 1971) is a former Canadian Football League receiver most recently with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 2005, Terry Vaughn's 1113 receiving yards combined with those of his teammates (Kerry Watkins's 1364 yards, Ben Cahoon's 1067 yards, and Dave Stala's 1037 yards) as the 2005 Montreal Alouettes became only the second team in CFL history to achieve four players all having over 1,000 yards receiving in the same season (the first being the 2004 Alouettes). On July 14, 2006 Terry Vaughn became the all-time leader in receptions in the Canadian Football League, surpassing Darren Flutie's previous record of 973 receptions. Gary Thomasson
Gary Leah Thomasson (born July 29, 1951) is an American former professional baseball player. He played as an outfielder and first baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB) between 1972 to 1980, most prominently as a member of the San Francisco Giants with whom he played for seven seasons. He also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, Montreal Expos, and the Cincinnati Reds. After his Major League Baseball career, he played for the Yomiuri Giants of Japanese Nippon Pro Baseball from 1981 to 1982. Thomasson was a member of the Yankees' 1978 World Series winning team over the Dodgers. Junior Seau
Tiaina Baul "Junior" Seau Jr. (; ; January 19, 1969May 2, 2012) was an American professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL), mostly with the San Diego Chargers. Known for his passionate play, he was a six-time first-team All-Pro, 12-time Pro Bowl selection, and named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. He was elected posthumously to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015. Originally from Oceanside, California, Seau played college football for the USC Trojans. He was selected by the Chargers with the fifth overall pick of the 1990 NFL Draft. Seau played for the Chargers for 13 seasons and led them to Super Bowl XXIX before being traded to the Miami Dolphins where he spent three years, and spent his last four seasons with the New England Patriots. Joe Fagaofe Salave'a (; born March 23, 1975) is an American football coach and former defensive tackle who is currently the associate head coach, run game coordinator and defensive line coach at the University of Miami. He previously served as the associate head coach, defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator at the University of Oregon from 2017 to 2021. Charles Louis Dimry, III (born January 31, 1966) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, and the San Diego Chargers. Carroll Christopher Chambliss (born December 26, 1948) is an American professional baseball player and coach. He played in Major League Baseball from to for the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves. He served as a coach for the Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, and Seattle Mariners. Chambliss won the American League Rookie of the Year Award with the Indians in 1971.
