Oceania National Olympic Committees
The Oceania National Olympic Committees (acronym: ONOC) is an international organization that congregates the 17 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of Oceania. It often assembles with other continental NOCs in the form of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC). Suva
Suva () is the capital and largest city of Fiji. It is the home of the country's largest metropolitan area and serves as its major port. The city is located on the southeast coast of the island of Viti Levu, in Rewa Province, Central Division. In 1877, the capital of Fiji was moved to Suva from Levuka, the main European colonial settlement at the time, due to its restrictive geography and environs. The administration of the colony was transferred from Levuka to Suva in 1882. As of the 2017 census, the city of Suva had a population of 93,970, and Suva's metropolitan area, which includes its independent suburbs, had a population of 185,913. Federated States of Micronesia National Olympic Committee (IOC code: FSM) is the National Olympic Committee representing Federated States of Micronesia. History FSMNOC was created in 1996 and achieved International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognition on 6 September 1997. In support of its application for the IOC, the Federated States of Micronesia held the first and second FSM Games and started affiliation to international sport federations. In June 1995, the first FSM Games were held on the island of Pohnpei. From 1995 to 1997, seven national sport federations became affiliated with their respective international sport federations. Marcus Stephen
Marcus Ajemada Stephen (born 1 October 1969) is a Nauruan politician and former sportsperson who previously was a member of the Cabinet of Nauru, and who served as President of Nauru from December 2007 to November 2011. The son of Nauruan parliamentarian Lawrence Stephen, Stephen was educated at St Bedes College and RMIT University in Victoria, Australia. Initially playing Australian rules football, he opted to pursue the sport of weightlifting, in which he represented Nauru at the Summer Olympics and Commonwealth Games between 1990 and 2002, winning seven Commonwealth gold medals. After his retirement from weightlifting, Stephen worked at the Bank of Nauru before being elected to parliament at the 2003 elections.
