Obdach
Obdach is a municipality in the district of Murtal in Styria, Austria. Geography The municipality covers an area of 159.24 km² and is located in the valley of the Granitzenbach north of the Obdach Saddle the transition from the Upper Murtal to the Lavanttal. The municipal area extends from the valley to the west to the Seetal Alps with the highest peak, the Zirbitzkogel (2396 m). History Obdach was first mentioned in a document in 1190 as "Obdah". The name goes back to the Old High German ''obadah'' (protective roof). Styria Municipal Structural Reform
The Styria municipal structural reform (German: ''Steiermärkische Gemeindestrukturreform'') was a local government reform in the Austrian state of Styria, which was made effective January 1, 2015. This reform nearly halved the number of Styrian municipalities as the reduced from 542 to 287. The reform was intended to reduce costs and ease election of new town officials. The terms of the reform is formalized in the Styrian Municipality Structural Reform Act. (StGsrG). The law was adopted on December 17, 2013 by the , and promulgated on April 2, 2014. Zirbitzkogel
The Zirbitzkogel, at , is the highest point of the Seetal Alps in Austria. It lies south of the Upper Mur valley in the Styria near its border with Carinthia. The Lavant, a left tributary of the Drau, has its source on the southern slopes of the mountain. Its name is not derived, as popularly supposed, from the Swiss pine trees (known in German as ''Zirben'') that dominate the woods in places, but from the Slovenian word ''zirbiza'', that can be translated as "red mountain pasture", which is a reference to the red-petalled alpenrose (''Rhododendron ferrugineum'') that is common hereabouts. In the local region this rhododendron plant is also known as ''Almrausch'' ("alp delirium"), perhaps an indication of the toxicity of the plants. Seetal Alps
The Seetal Alps (german: Seetaler Alpen) are a mountain range in the Lavanttal or Noric Alps in Austria south of the River Mur between Scheifling and Zeltweg. Their highest peak is the Zirbitzkogel (2,396 m). Topography The Seetal Alps are bounded to the north by the Mur valley, to the east by the Obdach Saddle, to the south by the Klippitztörl and to the west by the Neumarkt Saddle. The majority of the range lies within the Austrian state of Styria, only from the Klippitztörl does it extend into Carinthia. Hirschegg-Pack is since 2015 a municipality with 1,054 residents (as of 1 January 2016) in Voitsberg District in Styria in Austria. It was created as part of the Styria municipal structural reform, at the end of 2014, by merging the former towns Hirschegg and Pack. Judenburg ( bar, Judnbuag) is a historic town in Styria, Austria. It is the administrative centre of the Murtal district, which was created on 1 January 2012 from the former Judenburg District and former Knittelfeld District. Until 31 December 2011, it was the capital of the Judenburg District. On 1 January 2015, the adjoining municipalities of Oberweg and Reifling were merged into Judenburg.
