Obaidul Hassan is a judge on the Appellate Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court. Early life Hassan was born on 11 January 1959 in Mohanganj Upazila, Netrokona District, East Pakistan, Pakistan. Hassan's father was Akhlakul Hossain Ahmed, a member of East Pakistan Provincial Assembly, and his mother was Begum Hosne Ara Hossain. His brother, Sajjadul Hassan, is the chairperson of Bangladesh Biman. Hassan completed his undergraduate and graduate degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka. He completed his law degree from the University of Dhaka. Career In 1986, Hassan started working as a lawyers in the District Court and the High Court in 1988. Hassan started working as a advocate in the Appellate Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court in 2005. In 2009, he was appointed an additional judge of Bangladesh High Court and became a full judge in 2011. Syed Mahmud Hossain (born 31 December 1954) was the 22nd Chief Justice of Bangladesh. He retired on 30 December 2021. Early life and education Hossain was born in 1954 to Syed Mustafa Ali (d. 2018) and Begum Kawsar Jahan. He completed his education life in Comilla town. The secondary school certificate from Comilla Zilla School in 1972, HSC examination from Comilla Victoria College in 1974 and passed from the same college in 1976 in the BSc examination. In 1980, he obtained LLB degree from Comilla Law College. The International Crimes Tribunal (Bangladesh) (ICT of Bangladesh) is a domestic war crimes tribunal in Bangladesh set up in 2009 to investigate and prosecute suspects for the genocide committed in 1971 by the Pakistan Army and their local collaborators, Razakars, Al-Badr and Al-Shams during the Bangladesh Liberation War.
