Oaklawn (Huntsville, Alabama)
Oaklawn (also known as the John Robinson House and the Robinson-Dilworth House) is a historic residence in Huntsville, Alabama. It was built in 1844 by John Robinson, a longtime revenue commissioner in Madison County who became one of the county's largest landowners. During the Civil War, the house was used by the Union Army as an officers' quarters. The family vacated the house in the late 19th century, and during the Spanish–American War, the grounds were used as an army camp and hospital. In 1919, the house was purchased by the Dilworth family and restored from its poor condition. The house was later owned by Max Luther, a prominent local merchant. The Greek Revival house has a five-bay main block with two attached wings to the sides, an unusual layout for the time in Alabama. Oaklawn Plantation (Leon County, Florida)
Oaklawn Plantation was a large plantation of 5326 acres (21½ km2) in northern Leon County in the U.S. state of Florida. It was established around 1850 by Captain William Lester (born December 24, 1790) of Burke County, Georgia. Location Oaklawn Plantation was located on two tracts of land. The first and northernmost tract would become what is now parts of Killearn Lakes Plantation and the private hunting preserve of Horseshoe Plantation and extending south to Bradfordville. The second and southernmost tract would become properties on Ox Bottom Rd and edge Thomasville Road. Oaklawn Plantation (Natchez, Louisiana)
The Oaklawn Plantation is a historic plantation house in Natchitoches, Louisiana. It is located on the Louisiana Highway 494 east of Natchitoches in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 28, 1979. History The mansion was built in 1830 for Narcisse Prudhomme, who held as many as 104 enslaved people on the property. After his death in 1859, the plantation was inherited by his son, Achille Prudhomme. Although the plantation survived the Civil War of 1861-1865 intact, after Achille's death, the land was divided into parcels by his heirs and sold off. In 1916, Charles Edgar Cloutier, the husband of Adeline Prudhomme, a great-grandniece of Narcisse Prudhomme, purchased the property.
