Oak Point Park And Nature Preserve
Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve is an 800-acre park in Plano, TX and is the largest park in the city. The park has 3.5 miles of concrete trails and 5 miles of soft trails, many of which are located along Rowlett Creek. In the southeastern region of the park, there is an equestrian area where visitors can ride horses. There are 26 trails. The North Trail connects to the Six Cities Trail in Allen, which connects to the Bluebonnet Trail. Timber Chase Trail is a 0.88-mile trail which borders the main lake in the center of the park. Wildlife includes bobcats, coyotes, snakes, rabbits, turtles, and fish. Visitors can take the paved multi-use trail to the neighboring Bob Woodruff Park to see the oldest tree in Plano, a 200-year-old Bur Oak. Plano ( ) is a city in Collin County, Texas, Collin County and Denton County, Texas, United States. It had a population of 285,494 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. It is a principal city of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. History European settlers came to the area near present-day Plano in the early 1840s. Facilities such as a sawmill, a gristmill, and a store soon brought more people to the area. Allen is a city in Collin County in the U.S. state of Texas, and a northern suburb of Dallas. According to the 2020 U.S. census its population was 104,627, up from 84,246 in 2010. Plano Balloon Festival
Plano Balloon Festival is held each September at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve in the city of Plano, Texas. It is one of the city's largest celebrations, drawing in excess of 90,000 attendees. Celebrating 40 years of its existence, the festival has evolved into an important fundraiser for local nonprofit organizations. InTouch Credit Union is the festival's main sponsor. The events at the festival vary somewhat from year to year. Rowlett (, traditionally ) is a city in Dallas and Rockwall counties in the U.S. state of Texas, and an eastern suburb of Dallas. The total population estimate is 73,270 in 2021.
