''O Zambezi'' is the fifth studio album by New Zealand rock band, Dragon. It was produced by Peter Dawkins and was released in September 1978 on vinyl and re-released on CD in 1988. The album peaked at number 3 on the Australian Kent Music Report which remains the band's highest charting album in that country. The album was certified platinum in Australia. In October 2010, the album was listed in the book ''100 Best Australian Albums'', despite being released by a New Zealand band. Dragon (band)
Dragon are a New Zealand rock band which was formed in Auckland in January 1972, and, from 1975, based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The band was originally fronted by singer Graeme Collins, but rose to fame with singer Marc Hunter and is currently led by his brother, bass player and vocalist Todd Hunter. The group performed, and released material, under the name Hunter in Europe and the United States during 1987. Keyboard player Paul Hewson wrote or co-wrote most of the group's 1970s hits: " April Sun in Cuba" peaked at No. 9 in New Zealand and No. 2 in Australia; " Are You Old Enough?" reached No. 6 in New Zealand and No. 1 in Australia in 1978; and " Still in Love with You" reached No. 35 and No. 27 in each country respectively that same year. Prahran, Victoria
Prahran (), also pronounced colloquially as Pran, is an inner suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 5 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Stonnington local government area. Prahran recorded a population of 12,203 at the 2021 census. Prahran is a part of Greater Melbourne, with many shops, restaurants and cafes. Chapel Street is a mix of upscale fashion boutiques and cafes. Greville Street, once the centre of the Melbourne's hippie community, has many cafés, bars, restaurants, bookstores, clothing shops and music shops. Prahran takes its name from Pur-ra-ran, a Boonwurrung word which was thought to mean "land partially surrounded by water". Ian McCausland
Ian McCausland (31 March 1944 – 9 August 2022) was an Australian artist best known for his music posters. Career Ian McCausland began his visual arts career in 1968 after winning a competition in Go-Set, an Australian music magazine. After Go-Set closed in 1974, Philip Frazer took several of their creative team to a new political publication called '' The Digger'', including McCausland as Art Director. Following the closure of ''The Digger'', McCausland worked for Planet, a weekly music newspaper which was started by Michael Gudinski and Ray Evans. The newspaper ran for two years until 1972, but its founders formed Mushroom Records and McCausland joined them as the label's Art Director and designed their logo. Kerry Jacobson
Kerry Samuel Jacobson (born 19 April 1954) is a New Zealand musician, educator, ARIA hall of fame inductee and former drummer of rock band Dragon (band), Dragon. Jacobson was a member from 1976 to 1983, played at their 30-year reunion and at the 2008 ARIA Hall of Fame in Melbourne, Australia. He continues to write and play with Ian Moss and is the drummer for Mondo Rock and his own banThe Filthy Animals Career Dragon Kerry Jacobson had been a member of various New Zealand groups including Mammal, Tapestry and Ebony before moving to Australia in 1976 where he joined rock music group, Dragon (band), Dragon, on drums.
