Owain James
Owain James is the Director of the Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation in London. He was previously Director of External Relations for the International Planned Parenthood Federation. Prior to that he was the global coordinator for the Global Campaign for Education between 2006 and 2012. He was president of the NUS from 2000 to 2002. Career James graduated from the University of Warwick in 1998. He was elected as President of the National Union of Students of the United Kingdom between 2000 and 2002. Mandy Telford
Mandy Telford (born 5 June 1976) is the former List of presidents of the National Union of Students (United Kingdom), President of National Union of Students (United Kingdom), National Union of Students from 2002 to 2004, having served the previous two years as President of National Union of Students Scotland, NUS Scotland. She was the fifth woman to hold the NUS presidency and was twice elected as the Labour Students candidate. Early life Telford was born in Falkirk and attended the Scottish private school Dollar Academy. She studied at the University of Strathclyde from 1996 until 2000 and for her final year was vice-President of the Students' Association at the Jordanhill College, Jordanhill campus. Andrew Pakes
Andrew Pakes (born 24 April 1973 as Andrew Stone) is a British Labour Party politician, and a former president of the National Union of Students (NUS). Pakes was born and grew up in Newport Pagnell, Borough of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. He was educated at Ousedale School, before going on to the University of Hull where he completed a Bachelor's degree in Politics and a Master's degree in Environmental Management. An active member of Labour Students, he was on the national executive of the National Union of Students from 1996 to 2000 and was twice elected the national president of NUS, serving in the role from 1998 to 2000. He had previously served as the organisation's National Treasurer from 1997 to 1998. The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is a global non-governmental organisation with the broad aims of promoting sexual and reproductive health, and advocating the right of individuals to make their own choices in family planning. It was first formed in 1952 in Bombay (present-day Mumbai), India, by Margaret Sanger and Lady Rama Rau at the Third International Conference on Planned Parenthood with support of an expanding population with limited resources. Make Poverty History are organizations in a number of countries, which focus on issues relating to 8th Millennium Development Goal such as aid, trade and justice. The Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) is a network of over 11,000 civil society organisations (CSOs) organized in about 58 National Coalitions and in constituency groups of women, youth and socially-excluded people, among others.
