Ove Kristian Sundberg
Ove Kristian Sundberg (22 June 1932 – 4 February 2019) was a Norwegian church musician, musicologist and historian of ideas. Sundberg was born in Øksnes. From 1962 to 1975 he served as organist at the Bodø Cathedral. He was appointed rector at Agder Musikkonservatorium from 1975 to 1976, and was assigned with the University of Oslo from 1979 to 1987. He was appointed professor at the University of Trondheim from 1988 to 1994, and was later professor at the University of Oslo. His publications include ''Musikk og liturgi'' from 1971, ''Pythagoras og de tonende tall'' from 1980, a monography of Igor Stravinsky from 1983, and three volumes of ''Musikktenkningens historie'' (2000–2007). Øksnes
Øksnes is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on the northwestern part of the large island of Langøya, which is a part of the traditional region of Vesterålen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Myre. Other villages in Øksnes include Alsvåg, Barkestad, Breidstrand, Nyksund, Strengelvåg, and Stø. The King's Medal of Merit (Norwegian: ''Kongens fortjenstmedalje'') is a Norwegian award. It was instituted in 1908 to reward meritorious achievements in the fields of art, science, business, and public service. It is divided in two classes: gold and silver. The medal in gold is rewarded for extraordinary achievements of importance to the nation and society. The medal in silver may be awarded for lesser achievements. The medal is suspended from a ribbon in the colours of the Royal Standard of Norway. The medal in gold is ranked eighth in the ranking of Norwegian orders and medals. Bodø Cathedral
Bodø Cathedral ( no, Bodø domkirke) is a cathedral of the Church of Norway in Bodø Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the town of Bodø. It is the church for the ''Bodø domkirke'' parish which is also the seat of the Bodø domprosti (deanery) and the seat of the Bishop of the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The concrete church was built in a long church basilica style in 1956 using plans drawn up by the architects Gudolf Blakstad and Herman Munthe-Kaas. The church seats about 850 people.
