Out Of Bounds (TV Series)
''Out Of Bounds'' is an action drama serial broadcast on BBC1 in the United Kingdom. It comprised six episodes that were broadcast weekly between 16 March 1977 and 20 April 1977. The story line involves two teenage gymnasts, a boy and a girl, the girl is played by Barbara Slater, an Olympic gymnast in real life. The elder brother of the boy was being blackmailed by a gang of crooks because his fingerprints were on a gun that had been used in a robbery, though he himself had nothing to do with it. As well as training for a big competition, the two gymnasts endeavoured to help the brother and they successfully got hold of the gun and tracked down the baddie in the sports hall just before the contest. Barbara Slater (sports Producer)
Barbara Jane Slater OBE (born 10 May 1959) is an English sports producer and former gymnast who represented Great Britain at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, where she carried the British flag at the Opening Ceremonies. Slater became the BBC's first female Director of Sport in April 2009. Previous to this, she had been the BBC's Head of Production and Head of General Sports for a number of years. Biography Slater was born into a sporting family: her father, Bill, was a professional footballer who played for England, won the Footballer of the Year award in 1960, and won three Football League titles with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Her uncle, J J Warr, played for the England cricket team. Slater gained two degrees, at the universities of Birmingham and Oxford, before qualifying to be a PE teacher at Loughborough. "Autobahn" is a 1975 song by German electronic band Kraftwerk, being the second and lead single from their studio album of the same name. The song was composed by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider of the band, with Emil Schult collaborating on the lyrics. It is co-produced by Conny Plank, and was the band's first track to use sung lyrics. Recorded in 1974, the song is designed to capture the feel of driving on a motorway.
