Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital ( ga, Ospidéal Mhuire Lourdes) is a public hospital located in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. It is managed by RCSI Hospitals. History The hospital, which was commissioned on the initiative of Mother Mary Martin of the Medical Missionaries of Mary, was opened as Our Lady of Lourdes International Missionary Training Hospital in 1955. Obstetrician Michael Neary was found to have performed an excessive number of hysterectomies during Caesarean sections in hospital during the late 1970s. The Catholic ethos of the Medical Missionaries of Mary has been blamed for some controversial practices in relation to abortion and contraception. Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital (abbreviated as OLLH) is a private non-profit tertiary hospital with 230-bed capacity located in Santa Mesa, Manila, in the Philippines. It is a part of the East Manila Hospital Managers Corporation, a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation. Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital was founded in 1958 by the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit congregation through Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Inc., a non-stock, non-profit corporation. Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center (French: Centre médical régional Notre-Dame de Lourdes ) is a hospital located in Lafayette, Louisiana in the United States. It is one of several medical facilities established in the state during the early 20th century by the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady, a Roman Catholic religious order based in Calais, France. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, which is the largest locally owned, not-for-profit health system in Louisiana. History The hospital was originally established in 1949 at 611 St. Landry Street, not far from what is now the campus of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
