''Our House'' is an Australian lifestyle and home renovation factual television series that aired on the Nine Network from 1993 until 2001. It was presented by musician and former Skyhooks band member front man Shirley Strachan, Reg Livermore, Rebecca Gilling Rebecca Gilling (born 3 November 1953 in Castlecrag, Sydney, Australia) is an Australian former model and actress, now environmentalist. Gilling is the daughter of World War II Navy personnel Douglas Gilling and prominent feminist campaigner ..., Tracey Dale (1993-1997), Suzie Wilks (1998-2000), Tara Dennis (2001) and Peter Harris. Graeme Strachan
Graeme Ronald Strachan (pronounced "Strawn") (2 January 195229 August 2001), professionally billed and known as "Shirley" Strachan or Shirl, was an Australian singer, songwriter, radio and television presenter, and carpenter. He was the lead singer of the rock group Skyhooks (1974–1978, 1983, 1984, 1990, 1994). While still a member of Skyhooks he had solo singles, which charted on the Kent Music Report, with a cover recording of Brenda Holloway's "Every Little Bit Hurts" (October 1976, No. 3) and a remake of The Miracles "Tracks of My Tears" (July 1977, top 20). After leaving Skyhooks in July 1978 he concentrated on his solo career. He was the host of children's TV program ''Shirl's Neighbourhood'' (1979–83), From 1993 he appeared on home renovation TV program, '' Our House'', as a carpenter and co-host. Reg Livermore
Reginald Dawson Livermore (born 11 December 1938) is an Australian actor, singer, theatrical performer and former television presenter. Childhood From a young age, Livermore demonstrated an interest in the performing arts. Regular outings to see pantomimes at the Tivoli Theatre Sydney indicated the sort of productions he enjoyed, and hinted at the direction his career would eventually take. At the age of 13 he started hiring local halls to stage performances of his own pantomimes in aid of local charities, his casts made up of coerced neighbourhood children and school friends. He hired the Mosman Town Hall in 1955 and again in 1956 to stage ''Snow White'', and then ''Mother Goose''. More money was taken at the box office but profits were small. Rebecca Gilling (born 3 November 1953 in Castlecrag, Sydney, Australia) is an Australian former model and actress, now environmentalist. Gilling is the daughter of World War II Navy personnel Douglas Gilling and prominent feminist campaigner Bridget Gilling. Career Her first acting role was in film ''Stone'' (1974) but she came to prominence in the ''Number 96'' feature film version in 1974, as the "bad girl" flight attendant Diana Moore even though she was not a member of the regular TV series cast. Her next acting role was in the action film ''The Man from Hong Kong'' (1975). Gilling went on to act in several television series. Suzannah Nicole Wilks (born 12 March 1970) is an Australian TV lifestyle presenter best known as the host of the Australian version of ''Changing Rooms'' between 1998 and 2005. Career Wilks' TV career began on the Nine Network, replacing Tracey Dale on the lifestyle series '' Our House'' in February 1998. Skyhooks (band)
Skyhooks were an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in March 1973 by mainstays Greg Macainsh on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Imants "Freddie" Strauks on drums. They were soon joined by Bob "Bongo" Starkie on guitar and backing vocals, and Red Symons on guitar, vocals and keyboards; and Steve Hill lead vocalist, Graeme "Shirley" Strachan became lead vocalist in March 1974. Described as a glam rock band, because of flamboyant costumes and make-up, Skyhooks addressed issues including buying drugs in "Carlton (Lygon Street Limbo)", sex and commitment in "Balwyn Calling", the gay scene in " Toorak Cowboy" and loss of girlfriends in "Somewhere in Sydney" by namechecking Australian locales. ''Shirl's Neighbourhood'' was an Australian afternoon children's television series aired on the Seven Network between 1979 and 1983. The half-hour show featured former Skyhooks frontman Graeme "Shirley" Strachan and co-host Liz Rule alongside a cast of characters including Norm The Kangaroo, Ol' Possum, Claude The Crow, Stanley The Snake, Greenfinger the Garden Gnome, Yippee the Bunyip, Bartholomew the Sheep and a band of monkeys.
