Otwock Railway Station
Otwock railway station is a railway station in Otwock, Poland. The station is served by Koleje Mazowieckie, who run trains from Warszawa Zachodnia to Dęblin, and Szybka Kolej Miejska, whose trains from Pruszków PKP terminate at Otwock. It is classified as C under the categories of Polish rail stations. History Otwock station opened in 1877, together with the Vistula River Railroad. The present day station building was constructed in 1910. The rail line through the station was electrified in 1936, to serve Warsaw suburban passenger trains. In the years 2018-2021 the station is undergoing complete modernization. Otwock is a city in east-central Poland, some southeast of Warsaw, with 44,635 inhabitants (2019). Otwock is a part of the Warsaw Agglomeration. It is situated on the right bank of Vistula River below the mouth of Swider River. Otwock is home to a unique architectural style called Swidermajer. Masovian Railways, in Polish Koleje Mazowieckie, is a regional rail operator in the Masovian Voivodeship of Poland. History The company was founded in 2004 as a joint venture of the Masovian Voivodeship, with 51% shares, and the, then government-owned, PKP Przewozy Regionalne, with 49% shares, to handle local passenger traffic in the Voivodeship. It started operating on 1 January 2005. Since the end of 2007 Masovian Railways has been fully owned by the Masovian Voivodeship. Warszawa Zachodnia station, in English Warsaw West, is a railway and long-distance bus station in Warsaw, Poland on the border of Ochota and Wola districts. The railway station is the westernmost terminus of the Warsaw Cross-City Line. Vistula River Railroad
Vistula River Railroad (Polish: Kolej Nadwiślańska) was a railroad system, opened on August 17, 1877. It ran from northwest to southeast, through the territory of the former Congress Poland, known after the November Uprising as Privislinsky Krai (part of the Russian Empire). Starting in Mława, which back then was located near the border with the German Empire, the connection ran through Ciechanów, Warsaw, Dęblin, Lublin, and Chełm, to the strategic railroad junction of Kovel (now Ukraine). In Mława, the system reached the Prussian railway network, as the nearby German border station of Działdowo (Soldau) was another important junction, with connections to Gdańsk (Danzig), Olsztyn (Allenstein), and Toruń (Thorn).
