Otto Von Munthe Af Morgenstierne
Bredo Otto Anton von Munthe af Morgenstierne (6 March 1871, in Copenhagen – 20 May 1945, in Copenhagen) was a Danish historian of nobility and history of architecture. Albert Fabritius, "Otto von Munthe af Morgenstierne", in: Povl Engelstoft & Svend Dahl (eds.), '' Dansk Biografisk Leksikon'', København: J.H. Schultz Forlag 1932–44. He was the son of Captain Otto Ludvig Michael von Munthe af Morgenstierne (1831–1899) and Baroness Anna Helene Mariane Løvenskiold (1839–1921), and graduated as cand. jur. in 1898. He became a Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog in 1931. He inherited ''Det Munthe-Morgenstierne- Løvenskiold'ske Fideikommis'' in 1921, and was chairman of the Urne Endowment from 1919. Nicolai Eigtved
Nicolai Eigtved, also known as Niels Eigtved (4 June 1701 – 7 June 1754) was a Danish architect. He introduced and was the leading proponent of the French rococo or late baroque style in Danish architecture during the 1730s–1740s. He designed and built some of the most prominent buildings of his time, a number of which still stand to this day. He also played an important role in the establishment of the Royal Danish Academy of Art (''Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi''), and was its first native-born leader. Ole Paus (1846–1931)
Ole Paus (24 October 1846 in Skien – 20 March 1931 at Bygdøy, Aker) was a Norwegian iron and steel industrialist and Chairman of the commercial bank Den norske Creditbank (now DNB ASA). He was a first cousin of Henrik Ibsen. Career He attended the Latin School in his native Skien and studied in Lübeck. He lived for several years in Germany and the United Kingdom, until he settled in Bygdøy, Aker. He founded the iron and steel wholesale company Ole Paus in 1872 and the factory A/S Den norske Hesteskosømfabrik in 1883. He was chairman of the Norwegian Iron Industry Association from 1910 to 1918. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Den norske Creditbank, one of Norway's leading commercial banks, from 1897, and became the bank's Chairman in 1903. The Paus family () is a Norwegian family that first appeared as members of the elite of 16th-century Oslo and that for centuries belonged to Norway's "aristocracy of officials" as priests of the state church, judges and other higher government officials, especially in Upper Telemark. The family is particularly known for its close association with Henrik Ibsen. Two brothers from Oslo who both became priests, Hans (1587–1648) and Peder Povelsson Paus (1590–1653), have long been known as the family's earliest certain ancestors. The Odd Fellows Mansion (Danish: Odd Fellow Palæet) is a Rococo town mansion in Copenhagen, Denmark, named after the local branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows which acquired the building in 1900. Before that, it was known as the Berckentin and later the Schimmelmann Mansion after its successive owners. Order Of The Dannebrog
The Order of the Dannebrog ( da, Dannebrogordenen) is a Danish order of chivalry instituted in 1671 by Christian V. Until 1808, membership in the order was limited to fifty members of noble or royal rank, who formed a single class known as ''White Knights'' to distinguish them from the ''Blue Knights'' who were members of the Order of the Elephant. In 1808, the Order was reformed and divided into four classes. The ''Grand Commander'' class is reserved to persons of princely origin. It is awarded only to royalty with close family ties with the Danish Royal House. The statute of the Order was amended in 1951 by a Royal Ordinance so that both men and women could be members of the Order.
