Otto Gjerdrum
Otto Gjerdrum (6 December 1831 – 7 March 1908) was a Norwegian businessperson. He was a son of Ole Gjerdrum, and brother of Jørgen and Carl Ferdinand Gjerdrum. Through his sister Alette Jørgine Constanse Gjerdrum he was a brother-in-law of dean Halfdan Einar Sommerfelt. He was married three times. In 1864 he married Ingeborg Birgitte Wergeland (1847–1868, daughter of Harald Nicolai Storm Wergeland and Anna Sofie Schøyen). In 1872 he married Alette Constance Alette Falsen (1852–1883, daughter of stipendiary magistrate Enevold Munch Falsen and Elise Nicoline Aars). He married Inga Louise Falsen in 1884. His father was a co-founder of Nydalens Compagnie in 1845. Otto Gjerdrum was the company's factory manager from 1860 to 1889, having taken over from co-founder Adam Hiorth. Order Of Vasa
The Royal Order of Vasa () is a Swedish order of chivalry, awarded to citizens of Sweden for service to state and society especially in the fields of agriculture, mining and commerce. It was instituted on 29 May 1772 by King Gustav III. It was unrestricted by birth or education and could therefore be awarded to anyone (as opposed to the Order of the Polar Star, which was intended as a reward for the learned professions). It was the most junior of all the Swedish orders. It was often awarded to Norwegian subjects of the dual monarchy until Oscar I founded the Norwegian Order of St. Olav in 1847. Since 1974 the order is no longer conferred: officially it has been declared as "dormant", along with the Order of the Sword. The Order of the Red Eagle (german: Roter Adlerorden) was an order of chivalry of the Kingdom of Prussia. It was awarded to both military personnel and civilians, to recognize valor in combat, excellence in military leadership, long and faithful service to the kingdom, or other achievements. Hofjægermester
Hofjægermester (hunting master of the court) is an honorary court title awarded to a limited number of (major and usually noble) land owners (''godsejere'') by the Danish monarch. The title was introduced in Denmark-Norway during the period of absolute monarchy. Today, it's solely an honorary title. As of the 01.03.2019, 52 persons hold the title in Denmark whereof 42 are men and 10 are women. The title was also used during the Swedish-Norwegian Union, but its use was discontinued in Sweden and Norway. In Norway, the title was spelled ''Hofjægermester'' when the title was used (until 1905), although the modern spelling would be ''hoffjegermester''. The Swedish spelling is ''hovjägmästare''. Ole Gjerdrum
Ole Eliassøn Gjerdrum (22 April 1785 – 29 January 1858) was a Norwegian jurist, civil servant and businessperson. Career He was born in Stange. He was a clerk for the district stipendiary magistrate until 1811. He then worked in Copenhagen and studied law, but when Norway achieved independence in 1814 he returned to his country of birth. After some time in the Ministry of Finance, where he advanced to assistant secretary in 1817, he was transferred to law enforcement. He tried to become burgomaster, but instead served as Chief of Police of Christiania from 1823 to 1831. In 1829, the so-called "Battle of the Square" took place. Demonstrators were celebrating the Constitution of Norway, which had been outlawed by King Charles John of Sweden and Norway, and the police under Gjerdrum's command intervented, causing a civic outrage.
