Ottawa—Vanier (provincial Electoral District)
Ottawa—Vanier (formerly known as Ottawa East) is a provincial electoral district in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1908. It is located in the east end of Ottawa. The riding, with a large Franco-Ontarian population in Vanier, Overbrook, Lower Town, and in adjoining neighbourhoods, has been one of the most solidly Liberal in the country in recent years, having elected Liberals both federally and provincially in every election since 1971. A sizable minority of the riding is in the former city of Vanier, which was merged with Ottawa in 2000. Vanier has long been home to much of Ottawa's francophone population, but between 1992 and 2001, the size of this linguistic group has fallen by almost 50%. Since 2003, the population of the entire riding has fallen by almost 10% at a time when the rest of the nation's capital increased by approximately 5.2%. Lucille Collard is a Canadians, Canadian politician who has been a Member of Provincial Parliament (Canada), member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) since 2020. A member of the Ontario Liberal Party, Collard represents Ottawa—Vanier (provincial electoral district), Ottawa—Vanier in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. Sandy Hill, Ottawa
Sandy Hill (french: Côte-de-Sable) is a neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario, located just east of downtown. The neighbourhood is bordered on the west by the Rideau Canal, and on the east by the Rideau River. To the north it stretches to Rideau Street and the Byward Market area while to the south it is bordered by the Queensway highway and Nicholas Street. The area is named for its hilliness, caused by the river, and its sandy soil, which makes it difficult to erect large buildings. It is home to a number of embassies, residences and parks. Pineview (also spelled Pine View) is a neighbourhood in Beacon Hill-Cyrville Ward in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, the neighbourhood was part of the City of Gloucester. As of the Canada 2021 Census, the neighbourhood had a population of 6,179. It is bounded by the Queensway on the north, Highway 417 to the west, the Greenbelt on the east and Innes Road to the south. Overbrook, Ottawa
Overbrook is an urban neighbourhood situated in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward, in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located across the Rideau River from the neighbourhood of Sandy Hill and is just to the south of Vanier. To the east of Overbrook is the former City of Gloucester. It was constituted as a police village in 1922 and was annexed by the City of Ottawa in 1950. Overbrook covers an area of 3.04 square kilometres and has a population density of 3,174 people per square kilometre (2011 Census). Overbrook's main street is Queen Mary Street, which runs from North River Road to St. Laurent Boulevard. Manor Park, Ottawa
Manor Park is a neighbourhood in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on the east side of Rockcliffe Park. The neighbourhood is bounded on the north by the Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway, on the east by the Aviation Parkway, on the south by Montreal Road and on the west by Birch Road. Lindenlea
Lindenlea is a neighbourhood in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, northeast of Downtown. It is bordered by Maple Lane to the north, Acacia Avenue to the east, Beechwood Avenue to the south and Springfield Road to the west. Prior to its founding in 1919, there were some homes in the area on Beechwood Avenue adjacent to the community of Clarkstown (now part of Vanier) and on Rideau Terrace. It is the earliest planned community in Ottawa, dating back to the end of the First World War. The community was planned by Thomas Adams and is an example of Adams' garden suburb style. Forbes is a neighbourhood in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is defined by the city as being bounded on the North by Montreal Road, on the east by the Aviation Parkway, on the west and south by the former municipal boundary of the city, and on the southwest by McArthur Avenue. However, the area west of St. Laurent Boulevard is part of the Overbrook Community Association, and most maps show Forbes as being east of St. Laurent. Cyrville (also referred to as Cummings) is a neighbourhood in Beacon Hill-Cyrville Ward in the east-end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The area is located within the former City of Gloucester, and is roughly bounded on the north, west and south by the former Gloucester City limit, and on the east by the Aviation Parkway and Highway 417. Carson Meadows is a neighbourhood in Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is roughly located south of Montreal Road and north of Collège La Cité, west of the National Research Council National Science Library site, and generally east of Carsons Road. This area has an approximate population of 3300 (2016 Census). The neighbourhood has a plurality Francophone population. Carson Grove
Carson Grove is a neighbourhood in the east end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The neighbourhood spans the former Ottawa-Gloucester boundary, which still forms the boundary between Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward and Beacon Hill-Cyrville Ward. The neighbourhood was built in the early 1970s by the Campeau Corporation, and was named for John Carson, an early settler in the region. The neighbourhood was expanded in the mid-1990s with the building of Carson Village, which was developed by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
