Otherness (Alexisonfire Album)
''Otherness'' is the fifth studio album by Canadian post-hardcore band Alexisonfire. The album was released on June 24, 2022, thirteen years after the release of their last full-length album, ''Old Crows / Young Cardinals''. It is also their first album since reuniting in 2015. The album takes its name from the first single from the album released, "Sweet Dreams of Otherness", which premiered on YouTube on March 10, 2022. It peaked at No. 4 on the Canadian albums chart. The album won the Juno Award for Rock Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2023. Background Alexisonfire reunited in 2015 but did not release any new material until February 15, 2019, when they released " Familiar Drugs", their first song in over eight years. On May 24, 2019, the band released another standalone single called "Complicit", followed by "Season of the Flood", on January 13, 2020. Jordan Hastings
Jordan "Ratbeard" Hastings (born March 15, 1982) is a Canadian musician born in Hamilton, Ontario. He is best known as the drummer of Alexisonfire, having replaced their former drummer Jesse Ingelevics. Hastings was originally intended to be a temporary replacement, but then became a full member after two months, with his first album with the band being ''Crisis'' in 2006.Wagner, Courtney (September 14, 2006). Wade MacNeil (born May 5, 1984) is a Canadian musician best known as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire. He is also the vocalist of the hardcore punk band Gallows, and the vocalist/guitarist/founder of the punk band Black Lungs. MacNeil has featured as a guest vocalist for songs by various other artists, including "St. Andrews" by Bedouin Soundclash, "Deathsmarch" by Cancer Bats (also appearing in the song's video), "Widower" by Johnny Truant, "The Gre(A)t Depression" by Anti-Flag and "She Upon the Black Wolf" by The Banner. Dallas Michael John Albert Green (born September 29, 1980) is a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter and record producer who records under the name City and Colour. He is also known for his contributions as a singer, rhythm guitarist and songwriter for the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire. In 2005, he debuted his first full-length album, ''Sometimes'', which achieved platinum certification in 2006. City and Colour began performing in small intimate venues between Alexisonfire tours. The name ''City and Colour'' comes from his own name: ''Dallas, Texas, Dallas'', a city, and ''Green'', a colour. George Pettit
George Frederick Douglas Pettit(born October 2, 1982) is a Canadian musician best known as the lead vocalist of the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire. He is also currently active as the vocalist of Dead Tired. Biography Pettit grew up in Grimsby, Ontario. He attended Lakeview Public School for his elementary years, then Grimsby Secondary School where he became involved in the local music scene. At the age of 17 Pettit, joined by friends Dallas Green, Wade MacNeil, Chris Steele, and Jesse Ingelevics formed Alexisonfire. According to Pettit, he had a choice of going to art school or being in the band before the first tour. Pettit ultimately chose Alexisonfire which would later gain worldwide recognition.
