Oskar A. Munck
Oskar Andreas Munch (7 July 1928 – 1 February 2017) was a Norwegian businessperson. He started his career in the company of his father, Sverre Munck, and eventually became chairman of Elektrisk Bureau and Asea Brown Boveri. Personal life Oskar Andreas Munck was born in Bergen as the son of businessman Sverre Munthe-Kaas Munck (1898–1970) and Elisa Margrethe "Lisken" Anthonisen. In 1950 he married Eldrid Berg Johnsen, a daughter of director Olav Johnsen. Career He finished his secondary education in 1947, and studied at the University of Grenoble and in the United States. From 1952 to 1955 he was manager in Bergenhus Canning Company before being hired in his father's eponymous company in 1955. He became manager in Munck International in 1956, mercantile director in Sverre Munck in 1960 and chief executive officer from 1963 to 1971. Sverre Munck
Sverre Munthe-Kaas Munck (5 July 1898 – 26 January 1970) was a Norwegian businessperson. Early life and career He was born in Høvik as the son of dean Oskar Albert Munck (1868–1956) and Mathilde Munthe-Kaas (1871–1906). He was also a great-grandson of Johan Storm Munch. He grew up in Øygarden, took his examen artium at Frogner School in 1916 and a degree in electrical engineering at the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1921. In October 1925 he married Elisa Margrethe "Lisken" Anthonisen. Their son Oskar A. Munck became best known among their children. In 1924 he founded his own company, which came to be known as Sverre Munck Elektro-Mekanisk Industri. After a time of struggle, the company profited from the upward economic cycles of the late 1930s and the post-World War II period. Ragnar Halvorsen (23 May 1924 – 15 February 2019)Death announcement, ''Aftenposten'' 20 February 2019, p. 29. was a Norwegian businessman and organizational leader. Halvorsen was born in Fredrikstad to Alf Ragnvald Halvorsen and Ellen Fredrikke Jensen, and married Anna Ødegård in 1949. He was assigned with the dynamite production company Norsk Sprængstofindustri/Dyno Industrier from 1961 to 1995, as CEO from 1981 to 1987, and chairman of the board from 1987 to 1995. Jens Gerhard Heiberg (born 20 April 1939, in Oslo) is a Norwegian industrialist who was head of the Lillehammer Olympic Organizing Committee (LOOC) and member of the International Olympic Committee. Education Heiberg received a graduate degree in economics at the School of Economics in Copenhagen in 1963 and one in Human Relations in Business & Industry at the California State University in 1964. Career Heiberg began his career in 1965–1966 as a market analyst at Norsk Hydro. He then became vice president in 1973 and President in 1987. After his work at Norsk Hydro, he held various management positions at Borregaard from 1966 to 1972. In 1972, he was also deputy CEO of Norcem until 1973. Ullern is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. History The borough has its name from an old farm, Norse ''Ullarin''. The first element is the genitive case of the name of the Norse god Ullr. The last element is ''vin'', meaning pasture or meadow. In Medieval times, the farm belonged to the monastery at Hovedøya. Following the Reformation in 1536, the farmland was separated between the crown and the local canon. Formally divided into lower and upper Ullern in 1740, both farms were bought by Herman Severin Løvenskiold, in 1878 and 1866 respectively. At the time, Ullern was a part of the rural municipality Aker. Signs of urbanization began in the 1800s, when Skøyen and areas along the Lysaker River, which divides Ullern from Bærum, began developing into industrial sites.
