Exploration Flight Test-1
Exploration Flight Test-1 or EFT-1 (previously known as Orion Flight Test 1 or OFT-1) was the first test flight of the crew module portion of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle. Without a crew, it was launched on December 5, 2014, at 12:05 UTC (7:05 am EST), by a Delta IV Heavy rocket from Space Launch Complex 37B at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The mission was a four-hour, two-orbit test of the Orion crew module featuring a high apogee on the second orbit and concluding with a high-energy reentry at around . This mission design corresponds to the Apollo 2/3 missions of 1966, which validated the Apollo flight control system and heat shield at re-entry conditions planned for the return from lunar missions. NASA heavily promoted the mission, collaborating with ''Sesame Street'' and its characters to educate children about the flight test and the Orion spacecraft. Objectives The flight was intended to test various Orion systems, including separation events, a ...

Orión (rocket)
Orión was the designation of a sounding rocket of Argentina, which was started between 1965 and 1971 at CELPA, Mar Chiquita, Tartagal and Wallops Island Wallops Island is a island in Accomack County, Virginia, part of the Virginia Barrier Islands that stretch along the eastern seaboard of the United States of America. It is just south of Chincoteague Island, a popular tourist destination. W .... In November 1966, three tests of the Argentine-built Orion rockets took place. Developed by the Instituto de Investigaciones Aeronauticas y Espaciales (IIAE), Orión marked Argentina's entry into the club of space-faring nations. The Orión-2 had a gross takeoff mass of and could carry a payload. Its dimensions were in length and in diameter. It could reach a ceiling of . The first version Orión-1 was flown twice in 1965 and 1966 in order to test the engines and technologies; with a length of it was limited to a payload. The production version Orión-2 was launched 2 ...

Orion (space Telescope)
The Orion space telescopes were a series of two instruments flown aboard Soviet spacecraft during the 1970s to conduct ultraviolet spectroscopy of stars. Orion 1 The Orion 1 space astrophysical observatory was installed in the orbital station Salyut 1. It was designed by Grigor Gurzadyan of Byurakan Observatory in Armenia. It was operated in June 1971 by crew member Viktor Patsayev, who thus became the first man to operate a telescope outside the Earth's atmosphere. Spectrograms of stars Vega and Beta Centauri between wavelengths 2000 and 3800 Å were obtained. Specifications * Ultraviolet telescope *Optical system: Mersenne *Spectrograph: Wadsworth *Diameter of primary mirror: 280 mm *Focal length: 1400 mm *Spectral range: 2000–3800 Å *Spectral resolution at wavelength 2600 Å: 5 Å *Film: UFSh 4, width 16 mm, range of sensitivity: 4000–2500 Å, resolution better 130 lines/mm *Cartridge capacity: 12m *Stabilization: two-stage, inertial *First stage: ...

List Of Constellation Missions
The Constellation Program was NASA's planned future human spaceflight program between 2005 and 2009, which aimed to develop a new crewed spacecraft ( Orion) and a pair of launchers (Ares I and Ares V) to continue servicing the International Space Station and return to the Moon. As of 2009, a single uncrewed suborbital launch test (Ares I-X) had been flown, with crewed missions anticipated to begin between 2014 (when an uncrewed mission was indeed launched) and 2017-2019 (according to the independent Augustine Commission). On February 1, 2010, President Obama announced that he intended to cancel the program with the U.S. 2011 fiscal year budget. A revised proposal in April confirmed that the Orion spacecraft would be retained for future missions beyond low Earth orbit, with the Ares launchers redeveloped into the Space Launch System. However, the Constellation Program itself was cancelled, with low Earth orbit operations transferred to the Commercial Crew Development program, whi ...
