''Kurupt and Cj Ginavece Present: The Originals'' is the self-titled debut album by West Coast gangsta rap group Originals, composed of Cj Ginavece, Kurupt and Keitarock. It was released on March 30, 2004, through Kustapo Records. Production was handled by A-1Yola, J. Wells, Mac Truk, Sir Jinx, Kenny McCloud, Co-Stars, Sanjay, with CJ Ginavece and Kurupt serving as executive producers. Ricardo Emmanuel Brown (born November 23, 1972), better known by his stage name Kurupt, is an American rapper and record producer who aided gangsta rap's rise via 1990s verses helping set lasting trends. He is one half of the rap duo Tha Dogg Pound, along with Daz Dillinger. His first solo album arrived in 1998. After feuding, the duo reunited in 2005. Personal life Ricardo Emmanuel Brown was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He moved to Los Angeles, California at age 16, first to Hawthorne, then to South Los Angeles, Crenshaw District at age 18. He was engaged to rapper Foxy Brown from 1997 to 1999. In the early 2000s, he was engaged to Natina Reed; the couple separated in 2002, following the birth of their son Tren Brown. Anthony Wheaton, professionally known by his stage name Sir Jinx, is an American hip hop producer and rapper from Los Angeles. He is a cousin of multi-platinum producer Dr. Dre. He began his career as a member of the C.I.A. in the mid-80s with Ice Cube and Kid Disaster. ''Against the Grain'' is the fourth studio album by American rapper Kurupt and his first on Death Row Records as a solo artist. Kurupt signed back onto Death Row Records, except as a solo artist in 2002. The album was delay from its planned 2004 release and was released in August 2005. It was Death Row's first freshly recorded album in over four years. The album went almost unnoticed due to the lack of promotion by Koch Records, which distributes all of Death Row's albums. It was the final original album released by the label during its original run, before being revived with ''BODR'' by Snoop Dogg 17 years later. David Brown (born 1983), better known by his stage name Roscoe, is an American rapper. He released his debut album, ''Young Roscoe Philaphornia'', in 2003, with the album debuting at #148 on the ''Billboard'' 200.
