Uttam Kumar ( bn, উত্তম কুমার; born Arun Kumar Chattopadhyay; 3 September 1926 – 24 July 1980), popularly known as the Mahanayak, was an Indian actor, producer, director, Screenwriter, script writer, composer, and singer who predominantly worked in Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali cinema. Kumar was one of the most successful actors in Bengali cinema history. Kumar's career spanned three decades, from the late 1940s until his death in 1980. He appeared in over 200 films. Anubha Gupta
Anubha Gupta (1930 - 14 January 1972) was an Indian Bengali actress, known for her work in Bengali cinema. She received the Best Actress in Supporting Role Award at the 26th Annual BFJA Awards for the film '' Hansuli Banker Upakatha.'' Early life Anubha Gupta was born in 1930 in Dinajpur, British India. She had an interest in dance and music since her childhood. She studied in Parry Charan Girls School and Shantiniketan. Career Gupta joined Bengali cinema as a playback singer when music director Robin Chatterjee introduced her to films. Her debut film as an actress was ''Samarpan'' which was released in 1949. Dhirendra Nath Ganguly (26 March 1893 – 18 November 1978), better known as Dhiren Ganguly or D.G, was a Dadasaheb Phalke Award-winning and Padma Bhushan recipient film entrepreneur/actor/director of Bengali Cinema. Nabadwip (), also spelt Navadwip, anciently Nadia or Nudiya, is a heritage city in Nadia district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Renuka Ray (1904–1997) was a noted freedom-fighter, social activist and politician of India.
