The Order of Duke Branimir ( hr, Red kneza Branimira) is the 7th most important medal given by the Republic of Croatia. The order was founded on April 1, 1995. The medal is awarded for excellence in promoting Croatia in international relations. It is named after duke Branimir of Croatia. Maciej Szymański
Maciej Grzegorz Szymański (born 25 January 1957, Milicz) is a Polish slavist and diplomat, an ambassador to Slovenia (1998–2002), Serbia (2005–2009), Croatia (2013–2017), and Bulgaria (since 2019). Life Szymański grew up in Międzyrzec Podlaski, and finished high school in Wrocław. In 1981, he graduated from Yugoslav studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice, specialising in Macedonian and Serbo-Croatian languages. In 1982, he began his professional career at the Ossolineum library in Wrocław. Between 1984 and 1992, he worked as a scientist at the Slavic Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He obtained his Ph.D. thesis on Slavic linguistics there. In 1992, Szymański joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He began as a head of the unit at the Consular Department. The system of honours of the Republic of Croatia was established after the independence of Croatia in 1991. Wiesław Karol Tarka (born 30 June 1964 in Bydgoszcz) is a Polish diplomat, Poland Ambassador to Croatia (2008–2012) and Sweden (2014–2018). Life Wiesław Tarka finished High School No. 6, Bydgoszcz. He has graduated from German studies at the University of Warsaw (M.A., 1988). He was studying also in Germany During 1989 Polish legislative election campaign he was Solidarity Citizens' Committee volunteer, next two years cooperating in creating the foreign policy of the committee. Slobodan Lang (8 October 1945 – 23 February 2016) was a Croatian physician, professor, diplomat, Member of Parliament, politician and Adviser for Humanitarian Issues of the first Croatian president, Franjo Tuđman. Background and education Lang was born on 8 October 1945 in Zagreb. His father was a prominent Croatian university professor, Rikard Lang, and his mother was from the notable Sorkočević family of Dubrovnik. Lang's paternal grandfather Ignjat Lang was president of the Jewish community of Vinkovci and his grandmother Terezija was a housewife. In 1941, a Dominican priest Hijacint Bošković, attempted to rescue the Langs from Nazi persecution. Bošković traveled from Dubrovnik to Vinkovci with a special permit that allowed him to relocate the Langs to Dubrovnik. Sir Fitzroy Maclean, 1st Baronet
Major-General Sir Fitzroy Hew Royle Maclean, 1st Baronet, (11 March 1911 – 15 June 1996) was a Scottish soldier, writer and politician. He was a Unionist Member of Parliament (MP) from 1941 to 1974 and was one of only two men who during the Second World War enlisted in the British Army as a private and rose to the rank of brigadier, the other being future fellow Conservative MP Enoch Powell. Orrin Grant Hatch (March 22, 1934 – April 23, 2022) was an American attorney and politician who served as a United States senator from Utah from 1977 to 2019. Milan Moguš (; 27 April 1927 – 19 November 2017) was a Croatian linguist and academician. Biography He was born in Senj, where he finished primary school and high school. In the academic year 1948/49 he attended in Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb (VIII. group: people's language and literature) and he graduated in 1953. Michael Kenneth Moore (28 January 1949 – 2 February 2020) was a New Zealand politician, union organiser, and author. Croatia participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This was their fifth appearance. Croatia managed to reach the final where they lost to France and finished second in the tournament. Ante Kostelić
Ante Kostelić (born 11 August 1938) is a Croatian former handball player, and handball and skier coach. He is best known for coaching his children, Croatian skiers Janica and Ivica Kostelić, who won the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, overall FIS Alpine World Cup and Olympic titles between 2001 and 2014. As head coach of the ŽRK Osijek handball club he won the 1981–82 IHF Women's Cup Winners' Cup.
