Opus (comic Strip)
''Opus'' was a Sunday strip drawn by Berkeley Breathed from November 23, 2003, to November 2, 2008. It was Breathed's fourth comic strip, following ''The Academia Waltz'', ''Bloom County'' and '' Outland''. Set in Bloom County, the satirical strip featured Breathed's character Opus the Penguin It was launched on November 23, 2003, and was syndicated by The Washington Post Writers Group. In early October 2008 the author declared he was terminating the strip because of his expectation that the United States is going to face tough times and his desire to depart from his most famous character "on a lighter note". Characters Opus Opus is the title character and protagonist of the strip. Catatonia
Catatonia is a complex neuropsychiatric behavioral syndrome that is characterized by abnormal movements, immobility, abnormal behaviors, and withdrawal. The onset of catatonia can be acute or subtle and symptoms can wax, wane, or change during episodes. There are several subtypes of catatonia: akinetic catatonia, excited catatonia, malignant catatonia, delirious mania, and self-injurious behaviors in autism. Although catatonia has historically been related to schizophrenia (catatonic schizophrenia), catatonia is most often seen in mood disorders. James Robert Davis (born July 28, 1945) is an American cartoonist, television writer, television producer, screenwriter, and film producer. He is best known as the creator of the comic strips ''Garfield'' and ''U.S. Acres''. Published since 1978, ''Garfield'' is one of the world's most widely syndicated comic strips. Lola Granola, also known as Fatima Struggle, is a fictional character in the comic strips ''Bloom County'' and ''Opus'' by Berkeley Breathed. Lola, a free spirited hippie and abstract artist, is the unlikely fiancée of Opus the Penguin. Their polar opposite personalities clash almost immediately; Opus dislikes her art, abhors her vegetarianism, and is horrified to learn that she has a tattoo of Dan Fogelberg in a "scandalous" place. Oliver Wendell Jones is a fictional character in ''Bloom County'', '' Outland'' and ''Opus'', three comic strips by American cartoonist Berkeley Breathed. Michael Binkley
Michael Binkley is a fictional character in Berke Breathed's cartoon strip ''Bloom County''. Michael, known to all simply as 'Binkley,' is a 10-year-old boy who lives at the Bloom County Boarding House with his father Tom (his mother, Margret, had divorced Tom and moved to Oakland with a Hells Angel). Binkley is in the same class as Milo Bloom, his best friend. Binkley introduces Opus to his group, at first believing him to be a dog.
