Open Up To Me
''Open Up to Me'' ( fi, Kerron sinulle kaiken) is a 2013 Finnish film directed and written by Simo Halinen. It tells a story of Maarit (Leea Klemola), a woman who has just gone through a sex reassignment surgery. She wants to rebuild her relationship to her teenage daughter and is also looking for a man to share her life with. The film was nominated for the 2013 Nordic Council Film Prize. Reception The film has received favorable reviews. While some writers have criticized the story for not having enough twists and turns, the work of actors has been praised almost unanimously. Simo Halinen (born 1963) is a Finnish film director, screenwriter, actor and author. Halinen graduated from the School of Arts, Design and Architecture at Aalto University in 1995. Leea Elisabet Klemola (born 16 August 1965 in Veteli) is a Finnish actress, director and playwright. She studied at the Theatre Academy Helsinki 1987–1991 and has also been teaching acting. Career Klemola has worked on stage and in films. Peter Franzén
Peter Vilhelm Franzén (born 14 August 1971) is a Finnish actor, author, screenwriter, and director. He is best known for his role as King Harald Finehair in ''Vikings'' (2016–2020). Personal life Franzén was born in Keminmaa, north Finland. Franzén has described his childhood as difficult due to his violent and alcoholic stepfather. Later, Franzén's relationship to his abusive stepfather was a major focal point in his semi-autobiographical novel, ''Above Dark Waters''. The Nordic Council Film Prize is an annual film prize administered by the Nordic Council. The Nordisk Film & TV Fond is the funding body that administers the prize. The Jussi Awards are Finland's premier film industry prizes, awarded annually to recognize the achievements of directors, actors, and writers. History The first Jussi Awards ceremony was held on 16 November 1944 at the Restaurant Adlon in Helsinki. The award is one of the oldest films awards in Europe. The original planned name for the prize was ''Aino'', but Jussi won in the end. The name comes from a character in the 1924 and 1936 Pohjalaisia films. Olavi Uusivirta (born 28 July 1983 in Helsinki, Finland) is a Finnish rock/pop singer, songwriter and actor. Childhood and education Before his school years Uusivirta moved with his parents first to Kotka and later to Karkkila due to his mother's work. At the end of elementary school he started guitar and piano lessons. He also attended art classes and a theatre club that his mother directed.
