Only You (1992 Film)
''Only You'' is a 1992 comedy film starring Andrew McCarthy, Kelly Preston and Helen Hunt and was directed by Betty Thomas, in her film directing debut. Plot Clifford Godfrey is a doll's house designer who is dumped by his fiancée a few hours before they are to depart for a vacation in Mexico. Clare Enfield, a travel agent, informs Cliff that his tickets are non-refundable. Upset, Cliff goes to a bar where he meets Amanda Hughes, a woman recently dumped by her rich boyfriend Max after he reunited with his estranged wife: she agrees to travel along with Cliff to Mexico. When Amanda sobers the following morning, she has no recollection of sleeping with or traveling with Cliff to Mexico. Betty Thomas
Betty Thomas (born Betty Lucille Nienhauser; July 21, 1948) is an American actress, director, and producer. She is known for her Emmy Award-winning role as Sergeant Lucy Bates on the television series ''Hill Street Blues''. As of March 2018, Thomas is one of just two directors (and the only solo director) to have multiple films on the list of seventeen highest-US-grossing female-directed films. Additionally, two of her films are in the top twenty-five highest-US-grossing female-directed films. Early life Thomas was born Betty Lucille Nienhauser in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1947 to Nancy (née Brown) and William H.
