One Of The Boys (American TV Series)
''One of the Boys'' is an American sitcom television series that aired on NBC from January 23 to April 24, 1982. It starred Mickey Rooney, Dana Carvey, Nathan Lane, and Scatman Crothers. ''TV Guide'' ranked it number 24 on its TV Guide's 50 Worst Shows of All Time list in 2002. Plot Oliver Nugent (Mickey Rooney) was a spry senior citizen, who, along with his friend, Bernard Solomon (Scatman Crothers) leaves his nursing home and move in with his college-aged grandson, Adam Shields (Dana Carvey), who is attending Sheffield College in New Jersey, and his roommate, Jonathan Burns (Nathan Lane). Situation Comedy
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. Critics disagree over the utility of the term "sitcom" in classifying shows that have come into existence since the turn of the century. Dick Latessa
Richard Robert Latessa (September 15, 1929 – December 19, 2016) was an American stage, film, and television actor. Early life Latessa was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1929. After serving in the Army in maybe 1952, he began performing in Cleveland before moving to New York in 1959 to pursue acting professionally. Stage career He made his Broadway debut in ''The Education of H*Y*M*A*N K*A*P*L*A*N'' in 1968. Barney Martin (March 3, 1923 – March 21, 2005) was an American actor, best known for playing Morty Seinfeld, father of Jerry, on the sitcom ''Seinfeld'' (1991-1998). Cleavon Jake Little (June 1, 1939 – October 22, 1992) was an American stage, film, and television actor. He began his career in the late 1960s on the stage.
