Once Love Was Lost
''Once Love Was Lost'' is the first full length studio album by Russian hardcore/ metal band Vorvaň. The album was released on October 14, 2016 through German labels Wooaaargh and Darkened Days Records. Background After the release of two EPs and a split Vorvaň started to work on the material for a full-length album. It took more than a year to finish recording, the band wanted to make “Once Love Was Lost” sound differently and stand up to the works of the bands that had influenced Vorvaň. Recording The album was recorded at Pentagram House, studio run by the band members. Famous sound producer Kurt Ballou mixed the record at Godcity Studio, Brad Boatright mastered it. Double LP edition includes a bonus cover on the song Struck a Nerve originally performed by Machine Head and includes a 32-page booklet with illustrations and lyrics. Vorvaň
Vorvaň is a Russian hardcore punk/metal band originally from Moscow, formed in 2009. They are known for mixing different styles of extreme music, continuously experimenting with compositions, melodics and sound. Biography Vorvaň was formed by guitarist Eugene Cherevkov who had left his previous band Tombstone Piledriver and started the new project in 2009 in Moscow with an idea of playing fast mix of metal and punk. After a long process of trying different musicians Eugene's old mate Igor Butz joined him as a bassist in early 2011. Later that year drummer Aleksandr Fursov and vocalist Eli Mavrychev completed the band's line up. In February 2012 Vorvaň released their debut EP "Sailing the Vastness of Oceans" via Gorgona Records limited to only 500 CD copies. As expected, it was influenced by Converge, Disfear and Mastodon. Brad Boatright
Bradley Boatright (born 1976) is an American musician, record producer, and mastering engineer based in Portland, Oregon. Boatright is known for his work as a guitarist and vocalist in From Ashes Rise and The Cooters, and as a mastering engineer at Audiosiege, credited on recordings by Off!, American Standards, Sleep, Noothgrush, Pierced Arrows, and more. On December 25, 2011, he launched his own recording label, Audiosiege Media, which is a division of Moshpit Tragedy Records. Many Audiosiege releases will feature production from Brad's studio in Portland. Jack Shirley
Jack Shirley is a Grammy Award nominated American record producer, audio engineer and musician. He is known for his analog driven aesthetic, and work with eclectic artists, including Deafheaven, whose 2013 sophomore album ''Sunbather'' received widespread critical acclaim. Shirley also worked with various other music acts, including Jeff Rosenstock, Loma Prieta, Bosse-de-Nage, Punch, Whirr, Shinobu, La Bella, State Faults and Frameworks. Besides his production work, he plays guitar for the bands Comadre and Everybody Row. Shirley is also the owner of The Atomic Garden Recording Studio, located in Oakland, California. Super Unison
Super Unison was an American post-hardcore band that formed in 2014. The band's name was derived from the song of the same name released on 90s post-hardcore band Drive Like Jehu's second studio album ''Yank Crime''. Vocalist Meghan O'Neil Pennie describes the band's early material as "a weird intersection of Dischord Records and riot grrrl." The band has self-released an EP and released their debut studio album ''Auto'' through Deathwish Inc. in 2016. The band announced their dissolution in September of 2019. Punch (band)
Punch is an American punk rock band that formed in 2006. The San Francisco-based band's lyrics discuss topics such as veganism, feminism and addiction, and also shares members with the bands Loma Prieta and Living Eyes. Punch co-released several EPs and LPs through local indie labels 625 Thrashcore and Discos Huelga before signing to Jacob Bannon's (Converge, Supermachiner) label Deathwish Inc. in 2011. Punch guitarist Keeth began writing for the band's third studio album in late 2013, and the full group came together in early 2014. Punch entered the studio with Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor) and recorded a new album in three days in March/April 2014. Machine Head (band)
Machine Head is an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California. The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Robb Flynn, who remains the only original member of the band. Machine Head's aggressive musicianship made it one of the pioneering bands in the new wave of American heavy metal. Its current lineup comprises Flynn, bassist Jared MacEachern, lead guitarist Wacław Kiełtyka and drummer Matt Alston. The LP (from "long playing" or "long play") is an analog sound storage medium, a phonograph record format characterized by: a speed of rpm; a 12- or 10-inch (30- or 25-cm) diameter; use of the "microgroove" groove specification; and a vinyl (a copolymer of vinyl chloride acetate) composition disk.
