Omaha Mavericks Men's Soccer
The Omaha Mavericks men's soccer team represents the University of Nebraska Omaha in NCAA Division I men's soccer competitions. The Mavericks compete in The Summit League. History The men's varsity soccer program began ahead of the 2011 NCAA Division I men's soccer season, where Omaha competed as an independent school. Jason Mims was the first coach of the program, who managed the team for first seven seasons of the program's existence. In 2012, Omaha joined the Summit League, where it established itself as one of the top schools in the conference. In the 2016 Summit League Men's Soccer Tournament, Omaha reached the championship, before falling to eventual College Cup finalists, 2016 Denver Pioneers men's soccer team, Denver. UNC Greensboro Spartans Men's Soccer
The UNC Greensboro Spartans men's soccer team is the varsity intercollegiate athletic team of University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. The team is a member of the Southern Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. UNCG's first men's soccer team was fielded in 1971. The team plays its home games at UNCG Soccer Stadium in Greensboro. 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship
The 2017 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament (also known as the 2017 College Cup) was the 59th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I men's collegiate soccer. The first, second, third, and quarterfinal rounds were held at college campus sites across the United States during November and December 2017, with host sites determined by seeding and record. The four-team College Cup finals were played at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pennsylvania on December 8 and 10. 2015 Summit League Men's Soccer Tournament
The 2015 Summit League men's soccer tournament was the tenth edition of the tournament. It determined Summit League's automatic berth into the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. The Denver Pioneers won the tournament, defeating the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles in the championship match. Jay Mims
Jason Mims is an American soccer coach. Playing career Mims grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He then attended Saint Louis Billikens men's soccer in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was a four-year starting midfielder from 1995–1999. Mims then played one year of professional soccer for the Cincinnati Riverhawks where he made 10 appearances and scored 2 goals. Coaching career College career After Mims retired from professional soccer he was hired as an assistant for the Creighton Bluejays. He spent nine years with Creighton before he was hired by the Omaha Mavericks as the first head coach in their soccer program's history. While there he brought the program national success, until leaving in mid-2018 for a spot in the Real Salt Lake academy system. Hugo Kametani
Hugo Kametani (born 26 January 1999) is a Japanese footballer who plays as a forward for Nagaworld in Cambodian Premier League. Career Pima Community College Kametani began attending Pima Community College in 2017, where he played two seasons for the men's soccer team. In 2018 he scored the game-winning goal in overtime to win Pima their first national championship. He scored 30 goals in his sophomore season, and was named the Junior College Division I men's national player of the year. Nebraska-Omaha After his time at Pima Community College, Kametani began attending the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Kametani played two seasons for the men's soccer team, and in 2020 was the Summit League Newcomer of the Year as well as named to the All-Summit First Team. Morrison Stadium
Morrison Stadium is a 6,000-seat soccer-specific stadium located between 17th and 19th Streets to the north of Cass Street, on the east side of the Creighton University campus in the NoDo neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska. The main entrance and ticket window is located on the west side, at the intersection of California and Florence Blvd. (19th Street). The stadium is home to the Creighton Bluejays men's and women's soccer teams. History Designed by architectural firm DLR Group, the stadium opened in the fall of 2003 as the Creighton Soccer Field. Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium
Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium was a baseball stadium in Omaha, Nebraska, the former home to the annual NCAA Division I College World Series and the minor league Omaha Royals, now known as the Omaha Storm Chasers. Rosenblatt Stadium was the largest minor league baseball stadium in the United States until its demolition (Sahlen Field now holds the record). The final College World Series game at Rosenblatt Stadium was played on June 29, 2010. The final game for the Royals in the stadium, and under the Royals name, was played on September 2, 2010, with the Royals defeating the Round Rock Express.
