Olim L'Berlin
''Olim L'Berlin'' (Hebrew: , lit. "Let's Ascend to Berlin" but more accurately "Let's Move to Berlin," also known as the Milky protest) was the name of a Facebook page that coined a snowclone in 2014, and was terminated in early 2015. Comparing the high cost of living in Israel with the comparatively cheaper economic climate in Berlin, which has a growing community of Israeli expatriates, the page urged more Israelis to move to Germany, raising a storm of protest in Israeli social and political circles. Compounding the reaction was the Facebook page's use of the same verb (''olim'') that Jews use for aliyah (immigration to Israel). The Facebook page based its cost-of-living comparison on the price of grocery items in Israel and Germany, among them a pudding dessert similar to the popular Israeli pudding known as Milky. Milky (pudding)
Milky ( he, מילקי, ) is the dairy pudding, produced in Israel by the Strauss corporation. Released onto the Israeli market in 1980, Milky is sold in containers with chocolate pudding on the bottom and whipped cream on the top. Milky was identical, in its original version, to a dessert sold by Groupe Danone in Germany as "Dany Sahne". The company also produces מילקי הפוך (Milky Upside Down), with vanilla pudding and chocolate cream, as well as a vanilla-flavored Milky, a Milky with sprinkles on top, Milky chocolate mousse and an "aerated" version. In 1986, Strauss premiered Milky's first video commercial to Israeli moviegoers entitled "Battle of the Milky." The commercial became a big hit and led to two sequels, "Battle of the Milky 2" and "Battle of the Milky 3." Yair Lapid ( he, יָאִיר לַפִּיד, transliterated: , ; born 5 November 1963) is an Israeli politician and former journalist who has been serving as the 14th prime minister of Israel since 1 July 2022. Channel 2 ( he, ערוץ שתיים, Arutz Shtaim), also called "The Second Channel" ( he, הערוץ השני, HaArutz HaSheni) was an Israeli commercial television channel. It started doing experimental broadcasts funded by the television tax. The channel started commercial broadcasting on 4 November 1993 regulated and managed by The Second Authority for Television and Radio. ''La Stampa'' (meaning ''The Press'' in English) is an Italian daily newspaper published in Turin, Italy. It is distributed in Italy and other European nations. A like button, like option, or recommend button, is a feature in communication software such as social networking services, Internet forums, news websites and blogs where the user can express that they like, enjoy or support certain content. Yair Shamir ( he, יאיר שמיר; born 18 August 1945) is an Israeli politician, businessman and former military officer. He served as a member of the Knesset for Yisrael Beiteinu between 2013 and 2015, during which he also held the post of Minister of Agriculture. Biography Personal life The son of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir and his wife Shulamit, Yair Shamir was born in Ramat Gan and raised in Tel Aviv.
